Tonight was a rough night. Got home from work late and decided to do some flying with my Phantom 3 Pro.

First flight went off with no problems. I landed and had to change batteries and grab a snack. While eating, I saw that DJI released an update to the Go App so I updated. After the update was complete, I grabbed a fresh battery and went back out for another flight.

About 5 minutes into the flight, the App froze. I forced it to close and restarted it. About 10 seconds after the app reconnected, the drone started to spin. I hit the "record' button and tried to gain control with not much success.

The drone stayed on after hitting to ground and I was able to track it down with relative ease. Much to my surprise, the drone appeared to be in good shape. The only obvious damage was a broken blade. I took it back home and extracted the flight records/video.

I was initially thinking that something went wrong with the compass. I replaced all of the blades, rebooted the drone and recalibrated everything. Everything appeared to be in good working order. I took it off and had it hover for a few minutes at 10-15 ft. It hovered fine and responded appropriately to all commands. I took it up to 175 feet and started to fly. About 90 seconds into the flight it started spinning out of control and crashed again.

Normally, I'm the first to say that any given crash is caused by pilot error. I know I did everything right on both of these flights. It's very suspicious that these incidents happened after updating the app, especially when I had successful flights right before the update.

I do not recommend updating to the newest version of DJI Go until this can be investigated further.

Compass appears to not be functioning correctly.

I am sorry for the accident, please contact DJI  technical support for repair. Please synchronize the flight records and provide your flight account, the technical support will analyse the data for you.

It depends on your device settings.  My iPad is set to not auto update for this reason.

I experienced FPV lag like never before after the DJI go 2.7 update. And all at extremely short distances for my 3 advanced. Yesterday on 2.6 it was perfect. Even at 2 kilometers. Not on 2.7.

Hi, the exact same thing happened to me yesterday. The Phantom started spinning and crashed. This was also the first flight after the app update. Unfortunatly I cannot retrieve the aircraft, because it fell 100m into the

river below the bridge.

Hi all, the exact same thing happened to me yesterday. The aircraft has just taken off and was hovering about 19m above the take off piont and 150m away where I wanted to photograph a bridge. The aircraft suddenly started spinning and dissapered into the river 100m below. The previous evening I also updated my Dji Go app.

Dji just released a 2.7.1 of the Go App... Maybe connected to the problem?

ohhh dear! Ive been on 2.7 ok so far. Just did the firmware 1.7.6 update. Test ok so far. Need a proper test though later. I just now updated to 2.7.1 on the go app so will test it all later and report back. DJI really need to do more tests before they release new firmware and software, instead of using their loyal customers as beta testers ;)

I updated the Go app on Monday and now my Phantom 3 Advance won't hover in one place.  It seems like the Vision Positioning System and the GPS isn't keeping it stable. Has anyone else had this problem with the 2.7 update?
