Any Phantom has to tilt to move forward.
More speed = more tilt
When the forward facing sensors are tilted down they can't see ahead.
Object avoidance has limitations.
It can't let you fly around doing crazy stuff and save your bacon.

The p3 goes 16m/s and phantom 4 in p mode goes 10m/s not the same and IMO not a good trade off.

My P3 Pro in GPS mode is 22mph.
