The BIN file is a valid file. The Windows OS doesn't recognize it, but you are not to ask Windows to do anything with it. The DJI aircraft is the device that reads the BIN file, per instructions that live in the same web location that you got the firmware ZIP from (that contained the BIN file).

There is no reason to delete the BIN file from the SD card. It doesn't hurt anything being there. In fact, it's a good thing to have it there in case something happens in the field, such as a battery thinking that it needs to be upgraded.

Well... I was hoping the next firmware will address the horizon issue. Too bad it didn't. It's really very disappointing. On my P3A the camera is almost always tilted to one side and it drifts. It might start level but then it will lean right and slowly go back and continue going and leaning left. Once in a while the camera will lean sharply (about 30-40 degrees) to one side when turning. It's usually to the right.
I wonder if DJI will ever address this issue or is the geofencing more important.

What about the remote controller?  I P3P updated but I'm having trouble with the remote; 1.5.70

It worked for some and some it did not.
It will eventually show the correct update.And my app never logged me out so my RC update shows 1.5.8 and I had no problem.
But some may see the 1.6+, and it will go away.
Also, none of my settings changed.

Hi. Active tracking Is now available for the Phantom 3. It's an app (not free) and it is here: Active Tracking.

Glad you are all good, but there is only one RC update, 1.5.8
Maybe yours didn't update the first attempt.

New update for P3 Standar not raise the range, that same before.

Yes it is ok.
Only if you were under 1.3, you have to stop at 1.3 then go to 1.7.
And if there is an issue, then you can go step by step.

I updated the DJI Go app this morning and then the rc firmware update. Now i can't connect the rc to the aircraft.  The rc status led is solid white.

Updates went without a hitch. I just want to thank all you guys and girls who take the time to put those helpful tutorials and other helpful videos and posts regarding the drones.

ok DJI can you acknowledge there are some issues with this upgrade, the common one seems to be signal loss. Just let us know you are working on it.

I upgraded my P3P.

Issues with the upgrade: none. It worked just fine.
Issues with first flight: none, it flew just fine

Issues with settings: Why do you have to change the settings with new firmware? Could you at least warn us that you reset them? While out flying, there as a great sky and I took some photos, only to come home and discover that DNG + JPG was reset to JPG only. I can't post-process photos from a freakin' JPG, I need RAW.

Has this new update came out yet?

one other issue I have is that when you go to about when it does connect all I get is the version 1.4.60+ nothing about the RC or app. anyone else have this. As you can see I have a standard.

Can anybody help me? I updated the app, rc firmware and aircraft firmware. Now, the led status of the rc blinks solid white and it doesn't sync with the aircraft. Also, the app recognise that there is a rc connected but it doesn't show version. Thank you for your help!

this update has affected allot of us, hoping DJI will respond soon. I have never seen so many issue with and upgrade. we all can't be doing this wrong.  another issue when I open up the go app it will flash from the inspire screen to the phantom screen and no way to connect. need to turn off everything even the phone and start over. may work may not but alway RC signal weak or no signal.

New update showed up on the app for my RC. After it was done installing, the gimbal on my P3 Pro started moving like crazy and getting Gimbal Motor Overloaded. I'm not able to update anything else. Anyone else encountered this problem with the Gimbal?

CAREFUL!!!  New update bricked my P3P!!!!!  Just sits there and beeps for hours!! Changed bin file back to the previous and it still just beeps at me.  Not cool!!!!

I am a newer owner of a P3S and would like to have step by step instructions for doing this update to avoid any issues.  When I open the app on my Samsung S5, it states, "PS Standard 1.4.60 Firmware update".  Thanks!

wait a few days read the forum this update has issues

I did my update to the new firmware for my Phantom 3 Advanced and didn't have any issues. I did mine via the app and it worked like a charm. Here is a screen capture of the new app and from the About screen for the versions. I'll take her out for a flight tomorrow.

DJI Go 2.7.1 update now available for IOS. Second DJI Go update in just a few days. No details as to what it might have fixed/changed.

Nothing about vibration?

Still vibrations appear when hovering. Had to lower basic gains to 90 to calm it down at least. Other than that, no problems after update. I did a IMU calibration, following up with a gimbal calibration and compass. Didn't fly for long, but all was good. Hovered a bit, moved around and no issues. Will try again tomorrow though.

Read the section of the manual on synching your RC with your aircraft. This is often required after a firmware update.

Hi guys need help here yesterday I upgraded to 1.7. But the update failed(stated on the log), so I tried again but this time round nothing happened when I switch the bird on. So I decided to take a look at the current firmware, it stated 1.7. So did it failed or not ? I can't re update cuz it's already at 1.7.

Are we going to get and update for android like the ios for GoAPP ? because the 2.7.0 version of android does not show the live video feed from the camera. The live video feed however works with the 2.6.1 version which i had prior to update on another device.. anyone has a fix for this? or we have to wait till DJI releases an update for the GoAPP to address this issue.

That means there was no battery update in this firmware release, just the aircraft.
Not every firmware release updates the batteries.

I did it.. but the rc seems to be death.. it is not well recognised by the app. The status led blinks solid white..
