Probably when the release the next generation of inspire's, I don't think it's possible on the current inspire because it lacks processor power and additional cameras.

True R&L Aerial is correct.  It will not happen on the Inspire1.

No.........

Considering any obstacle avoidance system would add weight and reduce flight time, I think I'll opt for just not flying mine into any buildings.

I have a standing policy on that myself, as the matter of fact line 22 of my Pre flight check states clearly .

22-  Do not fly into any buildings.

It's a good policy ....

Not flying into a building is a great idea maybe you should add trees,mountains,bridges & possibly even elephants to your list though.
