After the recent update to the DJI GO app (2.7) there suddenly was a permanent problem, the live screen stays in 4:3 no matter whether I choose the film mode or picture mode. There is no way to get back to 16:9..
Why would DJI ever do this? and How do I fix this?
Thank You.

You don't say what you've tried.
Have you gone to the Image Size setting in the app?
Did you have the P3 connected at the time?
Why do you want 16:9 anyway?

I have the same issue with unchangable 4:3 in both android and iOS devices. (nexus 5 and iphone 6)
How can I enable usb debugging and change those protocols you mentioned?

Also sometimes it's not only the fpv feed that has this ratio, but the rest of the interface is being cropped too. Especially the pop-up menus.

Finally, does this error affect anyhow the recorded video itself?

Thank you in advance

I have the same problem after updating the DJI GO app to 2.7.0. The FPV stream stays in 4:3 mode regardless of the video settings and it also looks squished and weird. Switching between video and photo mode doesn't help. The recordings and photos on the SD card comes out fine though, same with the cached video and photos saved on the phone. It's only the FPV view in the app that's messed up.

What worked for me was this. (android)
1) go into app manager, and find DJI GO
2) Clear cache (don't clear data!!)
3) Force stop the app.
4) Un-install DJI Go
5) Shut off phone, and leave off for 30 seconds
6) Restart phone
7) Reinstall DJI Go app
Worked for me!

Same issues here. Why isn't this solved by DJI ? Must be a bug always getting the 4:3 FOV on the app..

If you set the still photo mode to 16:9, exit DJI GO, and then launch it again it'll properly show 16x9 in both modes. At that point if you switch to 4:3 photos it'll squish the 4:3 image down vertically into the wider 16:9 display. Exit and load DJI GO again and it'll start back up correctly in 4:3 camera mode. Switch to video and you get the 16:9 video distorted to fill the narrower 4:3 display.

The heart of the problem is simply that it it keeps the aspect ratio fixed to whatever it was when the app first loads and just stretches the incoming data to fill that box.

I had this problem initially too. Not sure what I did. Eventually it went away. I first went to camera and made the setting widescreen. Then I closed and reopened and somehow its fine now. But I did have this issue initially too.

Can you guys not just enter the DJI GO Camera menu and change the settings manually? That's what I did.

I have this problem. It started after the 2.7 update. I went back to 2.6.1 support won't acknowledge the problem. I'm using a shield k1. Works perfectly with Litchi

Yes I can change that in camera settings. It just distorts the image,  but does not fill the screen. Makes it very difficult to fly with distorted image.

It took me ages to find a solution to this problem. I just bought a Galaxy S2 8" Tablet and when the live view seemed to be fixed at 4:3 I was horrified - thinking I had made a big mistake. So, you are responsible for my blood pressure going back down. Thank you!
