It won't make the image any larger or smaller - merely allow you to get closer to the subject. I've only used the +1 lens so far. The danger with the Osmo is that any movement on close subjects tend to show up as unacceptable camera movement - I suppose if the Osmo was placed on its tripod, you could then get steady closer shots with just a pan or tilt. As I said before, it you need to get a tighter shot, there is the new digital zoom feature, but you will need to use it wisely or the image will degrade a lot...Now, if the digital zoom worked in the 4K setting, then that would be very useful!
The closeup lens is not much heavier that the supplied ND filter, so it doesn't seem to affect the operation of the gimbal.
