It's the classic "proprietary" media gouge. Remember Panasonic P2? Man that sucked. RED is pretty rough as well. All you have to do is compare the price of the regular X5 and the X5R to see what DJI is doing here. It's a business decision, an unfortunate one but one they have decided to make.
Judging from the stats, its seems to be a standard M.2 or uSATA drive. If that is the case, it will be interesting if they block us from using our own. Hats off to Blackmagic for using easily accessible and standard media. |
