After updating the firmware on my P3S to 1.4.60 I am now having problems with the quad losing the RC signal while the Wifi downlink from the quad remains strong. In a location where I previously was able to fly out to 600 meters without any signal errors, it can't make it past 430 meters without losing the signal and initating RTH.

I have tried relinking the RC and quad without any improvement.

This morning I went out to the same location and tried again with the same results: the P3S lost the RC signal at 440 meters. I then tried adding a parabolic reflector on the antenna (as per this post: http://forum.dji.com/thread-23565-1-1.html ) and was able to reach 1020 meters before the quad lost the RC signal: http://healthydrones.com/main?share=MzAzNQ

I should not have to use a mod like that just to reach the advertised range in a rural area with clear line of sight and no interference.

Oh, I did forget to mention the DJI Go app was also updated to 2.7.0, so I suppose it's possible it might be the app itself rather than just the firmware that reduced the range. Perhaps the transmitter is being set to CE mode instead of FCC and limiting the transmitter power?

that is interesting! Ce vs. FCC?
I have similar issues, I am working on getting some detailed info and plan to submit a ticket to support.
