I am amazed at what people "think" they can get for these Phantoms online. I have been in the market for a used P3A or P3P for a few weeks now, checking the local Craigslist postings regularly (I prefer to buy local rather than have one shipped sight unseen). Most people around me (NE Ohio) think they can get $1000+ for their P3P's. I think they base the price off what THEY paid, rather than the current market value. I'm sure it hurts to pay $1300 for something, and 6 months later have to sell for 1/2 that or maybe less. But that is reality. We all know brand new P3P's can be found online now for $800. I think that puts the value of used ones in the $500-$600 range. I would be taking a chance even paying that much, as I do not know the history of what I am buying (rough landings, crashes, abuse of battery, etc.) and would have no warranty coverage.
Obviously, if a seller has extra batteries, case, etc - that adds to the value of the sale. But in most cases, those extras bring pennies on the dollar as thow-ins to a sale. Better off selling them separately on eBay... |
