I havent bought one yet, but im thinking of buying the P4, wanted to ask does anyone have any experience with taking the drone (in particular the battery) with them on a commercial flight? is it allowed? just because i have a hoverboard and the airlines and fedex did not allow me to ship it by air. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!!
Yes, I have taken my P3P and P2 on numerous flights, domestic and international - Australia, US, China, Brazil. All OK. I generally travel with 4-6 batteries. I'll be on a flight Friday night with my P4.
You are allowed to take as many Phantom batteries as you like per the FAA rules on Lipo batteries. If you had an Inspire and the larger TB48 batteries you can only take twoof those as anything over 100 watts you can only have two as carry on. But under 100 watts you can take as many as you want. https://www.faa.gov/about/initia ... more_info/?hazmat=7
