I crashed my brand new P4 and broke the piece of white plastic that the prop clips to. If you wrecked your P4 and can
salvage the part, (for the black ring prop only) I will give you $20 and pay for shipping, via paypal.

I think we are all going to need that part. They look simple to replace. Hopefully DJI will make them available.

That part is probably printable - if some industrious person could create the 3d model.  Any takers?

Granted if you lost the other piece, you could put on a blob of it and sand down to form the part.

Thanks guys! I would try the glue solution, but I could not find the piece that broke off, and believe me I looked. The prop actually seems to click in fine, and I flew it for a few seconds about a foot off the ground, but no way am I going to send it up...

No no no no no!
This part has to be made from exactly the right material in exactly the right mold. It must have exactly the right strength and rigidity. It is not something you can spit out in a 3D printer (not if you hope to keep your drone in the air).

I don't believe that.  It could be a different material and stronger as long as it was close in weight and you could adequately lock the prop onto it and remove it.

Magnesium or Titan are better, but i think it's a must break part to save the ESC and Motor.

Nice, but with props that spin at 8,000rpm I wouldn't want a patch job.

Not sure how well the printed prop holder would hold up under the stress of flight,  not only does it need to support the rapid torque changes but also the weight of the craft.  When i saw the mounts on my p4 first thing i thought was "wonder if they put extras in to replace these"     no doubt they are going to get warn out because they do have a slight bit of movement in them and over time clearances will grow until it fails and the failure hopefully will be on take off so not a far fall.

when these parts come in stock to be purchased i know i will be ordering at least 12 (6 cw 6 ccw) and change them requardless of  how they look at 10-20 hours flight depending on how they wear.

id rather be throwing away a tiny part with alot of life left in it than having it fail in flight with a stress crack.

i cringed when i read this,   then after reading other replies and the one about spinning at 8k.   trying to glue or build a new mount out of glue is just crazy.     same thing with printed ones,  not a matter of making it softer or harder.   it was designed to a specification,   im all for mods but this is not something i would mess with.        Also about the CNC of aluminum to make it, and was pointed out this is ment to be a fail point which is true.

Basically it is what it is.   if you start changing core components like the prop mounts and lets say the motor had a genuine failure and it crashes.  dji will review the logs and inspect your bird.   if they see your "mod/rig job" on it they will be sending you a bill for repairs and its your problem weather or not you were directly at fault.

I honestly believe we will see a revision in the future changing this mount and props as well.  just like the p3 motors from first gen to second.  granted that was a change for different reasons not design issues     last part just my 2 cents.

No, in the name of God, do not attempt to fix, glue, patch or 3D-print such vital part of the craft by yourself! With this Amazon glue you can fix your grandma's china ware, not the 2kg meteorite flying above other people heads! Think, think just a bit and be more responsible ... Jesus Maria, help us all ...

True, the options are limited by the design.  It will be interesting to watch if this start to become a common issue.  Personally, I would want to insure the props stay on and do not fly off during flight due to the weak points such as that part of the P4.  I am sure if done correctly, you will start to see third party parts made to increase the risk of failure such as this.

For example, before even my first flight with the Phantom 3, I added gimbal guards and other parts to protect from minor crashes (glad I did).

When I finally get a P4, first thing I am going to do is watch and listen to issues others had and make improvements right away, but that is just me. {:2_38:}

Currently, you would need to send it in.
Sorry about that.

It looks like these might be only second to props in the 'biffed spares' category???

Hopefully DJI will make these available for the masses....

Look bottom line is these parts should be made available from the manufacture......
Do you buy a new vehicle and there are no brake pads available ?????
Do you buy a new home and there are no Shingles available for the roof???
I am a supporter of the DJI drones however replacement parts should be made available  upon release of the model.
