It is funny how DJI determines the no-fly zone to be either 0.6 mi or 1.5 mi around the airport reference point (ARP). That distance usually covers the apron and big part of the runway(s). But not more. And actually, this is the area that is LEAST dangerous because all aircraft tend to be on the ground there!
What would be really more useful is to block areas along the main runways up to a certain point in the glide path that is over 1500 ft - so that the technical limitation within the drone will keep it in safe limits.
It always going to be a radius of some distance around an airport, there's too many airports for a customized zone (flight path) if that's what you were saying. Not saying it can't be done, just saying I don't think they would add that to the FW. |
