One of my motor arms/motors is making a slight rattle if you rev the motors with no props but sounds fine on idle.  My phantom was repaired and one of the motors replaced,  could a wire be rattling inside? All the motors move freely and feel normal.  I really don't want to send my phantom 3 pro back for another repair, it still has never flown.  It seems to be coming from one motor/arm area.

I will make a video later today.

Edit - here is the video, the noise happens right before I let off the throttle, kinda sounds like static.

I had the same issue when I got my back from repair.  It appeared the tech placed a motor down on his work bench and didn't look at the bottom of the motor when he put it back in.  The magnet on the motor picked up a small screw, it was rattling around in the arm/motor area for the first flight, I never heard it at idle.  Take the 4 screws out on the bottom of the motor, pull the motor out and see if anything falls out of the housing.  Might be just that simple.

Will the motor align up properly when I put the motor back on? I shook my phantom to see if I can hear anything rattle and I hear nothing.  If myntech did the same thing I'm going to be disappointed,. Why do they not test every major component before return, the idel/rev test is common practice to see if the motors are OK, do they not do this. Ughhhn this is starting to get very frustrating. I purchased this phantom 3 on March 1st and still haven't been able to fly.

After some testing, it sounds like harmonic vibration as it only makes noise at a certain rpm and if I squeeze the top and bottom arm shell together the sound stops.

So it seems a wire/other component is vibrating at certain rpm with props off, and is not an actual mechanical issue.

Should I be safe to fly?

Just did a flight, it flys fine but their is defiantly a sound that is not normal. This god damn sucks, I don't know if its harmonic vibration or ESC/motor issue........

What should I do? I'm god damn furious that DJI didn't actually test my phantom 3/pro, if I send it back I guess I will have to demand an Escalated RMA....

How is this cost effective DJI? why not actually test every single aspect before sending it back?

Bought a P3A the camera had massive issues, I was able to return. Bought a Phantom 3 pro and it was DOA with ESC errors, was forced to repair because in Canada bestbuy doesn't accept open box returns of drones under any circumstances, so it was sent to dji for repair, they sent a sheet saying they replaced a motor, but I bet my ESC/Main board was replaced, because the phantom 3 pro name I gave it changed to Phantom Pro 3 from Spartan X2.

I get it back and right out of the shipping box its making this noise....

Really DJI?

Still furious they wouldn't replace my new never flown DOA unit with a new unit.

Bought this thing on March 1st and just got to fly it now for the first time due to all the problems, and I still have issues....
DJI is starting to be my worst experience of any company, you really need to fix dji support/repairs problems as of yestarday....

When I received my P3P back from repair, the tech put 4 drop pins(I removed the 2 extra) and my controller/aircraft were full of black grease, especially on the controller rubber grips, which took me over an hour to get out. NOT HAPPY!!!!

Edit - I now think the sound is coming from the esc , I guess I will have to send it back AGAIN. I don't know if I'm going to stick with dji for my next drone, this has been a nightmare that I can't wake from.

Don't worry. It is normal and it won't have any influence on the drone. My drone also has this kind of sound and flies perfectly.

BTW... THE SOUND doesnt come from the motor... it comes from some component around the left arm.. causing resonance...  but i still wonder if this is normal and what is causing that sound

The sound of the video is normal. If some problems exist in the dynamical system, there will be some strange sound and the drone will not keep its attitude well in the air.
