I have Been using the lightbridge with my S1000 (A2, Zenmuse z15 5d mark iii, black pearl FPV) now for six months and have yet to fly once without losing the camera feed...
Its nothing to do with range (I never fly out of sight) It'll drop out while it sits on the ground sometimes.
I also lose the battery level and controller signal strength when it happens.
The only way I have been able to get it back is by unplugging and plugging back in the HDMI cable from the Cannon camera multiple times... this sometimes brings back the video feed.

Does someone have a better idea of what's happening here, I need this to be more reliable.

You may need to check if all the cables and connection are in good conditions first.
Connect to the A2 Assistant software and check if each unit is recognized correctly.
Watch the indicators, is there any abnormal signal from the indicators?
Any more details may be helpful for our judgement.
