Is it possible to convert a Phantom 2 Vision to take the H4-3D gimbal and use a Go pro or will I need to buy another Phantom 2?
I've currently got a rotorpixel gimbal on it.

Possibly, but as soon as you remove the Vision camera, you will lose the advantage of the Vision App, so no telemetry or FPV video.

Flying blind - I thought that would be the case in a basic fit, but what I'm looking for is a fix that will give me that control of the gimbal and camera.  I believe the GoPro has an app to see what the camera sees, but with limited range.  I did buy a special offer Yuneec Q500+, but the battery charger, the batteries and the results from the camera sucks.  I'll probably try and sell it as new condition - it's only been out once.

Impulse shopping... Shame on you, my brother. A quick read over at the Yuneec website forum would have cleared any fog. ;-)

Basically DJI does not recommend any hardware interference. But if you still want to change the gimbal, there are some experienced users out there who can help you with advice.

Yeah! I did some homework and believed what I read and saw on those youtube videos - you know the ones that push them, unboxing, test flying, and bigging them up.  They must be in it for the money and freebies. My old gran was right - 'Don't believe anything you hear and only believe half of what you see'.

You won't have to be flying blind,... I rerouted my gimbal wiring and have full metrics in the vision app. It really easy. Incl. opening her up,a 15 min operation. Check my post on this subject! http://forum.dji.com/thread-46053-1-1.html
Mind you that it only works in the android app! Why? I don't know,... Yet
