I need a drone for taking pro still pictures, how well does the Inspire 1 work for that purpuse?

As good as you would expect from a 1/2.3" sensor - like the one used on the Sony Xperia Z3 smartphone. Or most compact point and shoot cameras.

Honestly, I can't wait for DJI to introduce a camera upgrade, one with an APS-C sensor, like the one from a Ricoh GR (as opposed to one from a Nikon D90)

The pictures on DJI's website for the Inspire 1 looks fantastic......are they not taken by the Inspire u think?

They probably are. That said, careful exposure and effective post processing can do wonders

Inspire cam does a nice job with the RAW format. The camera tie-up is much shorter than it is with the Phantom.
