Brand new P4 throwing a hardware error right of the box. Forward left vison sensor error (4). Harware malfunction. Contact DJI support to arrange for repairs. Pics attached. Firmware is up to date. What do you guys think? Should I return the unit to dealer?

The error went away after rebooting. It could be just a software glitch or something more serious. As per your suggestion I will re-calibrate the vision system and further test.

I had the same situation, 3rd mission, "Vision system error" rebooted and it went away.... hmmmm?

This happened to me once as well.   It went away after restarting the drone.  It's never happened again.

I have the same issue right now .... and I have another issue with the battery that doesn't work anymore. what should I do .... return the whole drone or just the battery ( I already noticed to DJI support) because they told to send only the battery.

3 days ago right after I had updated my p4. and would try the first test flight. that made my the same 2 times. after I had finished re-booting the last time it did not do more .. but I'm as excited about it coming back ..
it had never been there before this update and my p4 is only 1 month old.

vision system error happened again today .. rebooted ph4 and it was away .. after having flown a little and changing the battery ... I did at one time a landing to get updated home point .. then came the vision system error again .. this time I restarted just DJI . Go app. and it seemed everything again ... weird :-/

That may happen and if power cycling doesn't clear it then do the sensor calibration.
if it still does it often then feel free to send it in to be looked at.

I too had this show up twice, I did a calibration threw dji assistant 2 n seemed to fix this problem, or so 1 battery about half spent testing seems... I also got a battery error, just as I was finished testing, it popped up so quick tho I am not exactly sure how it was worded, as I was shutting down as I had already heard the low battery warning and had landed to shut down.... charging the battery now, will try tomorrow or later to see whats up as the winds have picked up a lot, and my P4 was fighting the wind hard to stay stable

Today I had to fly over an area of about 3400 square meters and had to take some pictures to some archaeologists
and there were no problems at all after about 40 min trip :-)

Also had this vision error. Rebooted both P4 and DjiGo a couple of times, and everything OK for now. Never had this problem before I updated to newest firmware. Also had an battery error along with a vision system error. That vision system calibration in Dji assistant 2 needs some work. It acts a bit strange. On my desk top computer I get an error while uploading calibration to the P4, but on a lap top, I get OK... Maby both latest firmware and dji assistant 2 needs a little more work?...

Just had the same on my P4. Should do some recordings. Could not start. 4x rebooting die not solved the problem. I cancels the job. Back at home it was working again.

Its the new FW.. it has a bug

I got this error twice, before in the same day, restarting cleared it... I eventually wiped firmware, reinstalled it, then did factory reset, and then calibrated IMU and sensors, never had the problem since then... that was 2 firmware upgrades ago...

I am seeing the "vision system error" all the time on Autopilot app, but not on DJI Go.
I didn't have the error on Autopilot until the latest DJI Go update.

Hello Heebeus.
It can be that you like on your own to to reinstalling twice a day. But for me it is some pain. Because it cost my time. This is like Microsoft did with clienta in worse time. Reboot and reinstall and reboot.
I drove today 100 km to do some recordings. And I couldn't do it. Yous because the Firmware is faulty.
So another 100km back.
I wish that DJI is taking a bit more respect to the clients how pay them.
They have to serve me. Not different way. It's not soo hard to do better firmware.
Same to the cracks in the battery's. .Where is a official word or statement to call them back?
Every single client has to do all the time consuming progesterone to get what he paid for.
It is once to shout out "we are the best", but then you have to show it.

Are you sure the lines aren't from the obstacle avoidance indicators? Could you provide a screenshot? Have you tried calibrating the sensors via the Assistant 2 Software? What firmware are you currently on?

How many times must I calibrate the Vision System via DJI 2 Assistant? Because my new Phantom 4 also gives out the same message: Vision System Error.
Or must I use ND4 Filter to decrease the level of UV from the sunlight?

I had this one in the first few days of ownership. A reboot cleared it.

I got the same issue, when i first turn on then mavic i had no issue or errors. When
i restart the mavic i got this vision error "Forward Right Vision Sensor Error (a00008)".
I've done this test using different firmware (.0400, .0550, .0600, .0700),  no luck same error.
