Does anyone know a good range and affordable range extender for my phantom 3 standard and will it void the dji care that I have

There are 2 items that could help. Once being something called a wind surfer, you can actually make your own at home. I typed in DYI wind surfer for DJI into google and found something. I' made one yesterday and got an extra 1,000 feet of distance before I turned back. I'll continue to test it. Also, there is something called the "32 channel update or "hack" it makes 32 channels available to you instead of 8 (use at your own discretion). I'll test again this weekend and see how much flight distance I can get.

Opening up your controller does void your warranty, so the easy way is to do also is add in a nice Copper Parabolic Antenna Range Booster.

Others use cheap kinda like aluminum and that really make things kinda worse.

I have tried home made wind surfers and it helps, dbs mod all the way , $100 my trubles are over with range on my standard, over 13000 ft. in open area , well worth it for me.

True, first thing I did was get the Argtek and made a huge difference.  The DBS is better due to the dBi antennas so after i switch out my antenna I also was hitting 2 mile range.

Really boils down to how much more money you want to spend on the Standard model.  If you wind up having to shell out an extra $200.00 US to extend the range, then you might be better upgrading to the advanced or professional line.

Why I suggest if you have the standard line you might as well look for the low end extenders.

So what made you upgrade the pro with the DBS mod?
I still just have the standard so was curious the range improved you get now versus stock?

Range increased from around 2000 feet to over 13000 feet.

Big difference, I was getting 2000 to 3000 feet .  Now I don't know how far it will go but a little over 16000 is as far as My nerves can handle.

Does it offer better penetration through trees and leaves?  Does the base detach easily? it doesn't look like it would fit in my case unless the antenna base would be removed.
