Ive just got the New Ipad Pro 9.7".
It just fits into the pad holder, then push down for 2 click.
At just under 17cm wide it fit is very snug.
A nice size to view on screen footage.

It must be right about the same size as the Air 2 Cellular I use. Just fits with barely a click to spare. Hahaha
I love having the full sized screen to fly with... It's more visually satisfying. And all the controls are easily accessed.

It does fit but only just.
When the holder is fully up, with the New Pro (9.7') you can just about get two clicks if you push down firmly.
Im glad that i have the PGY mount, very sturdy.

Don't you folks find it heavy? I'm using an iPhone 6 atm, but just bought a second hand iPad mini 2 for use as my display.

I have a iPad Air and gave it a go but found it weighty.

Just curious.

Wow, I didn't think it would fit, will have to try mine now. Although I see you have a better secure locking it to the RC. The stock one is wobbly with an iPhone 6s Plus so with the iPad Pro will be very loose.

I use a harness to support my RC, so weight is not an issue.
I think the New iPad Pro is lighter than the iPad Airs.

The stock RC mount is rubbish with the larger tablets as it does wobble about.
I would recommend getting a better RC mount for bigger tablets.

Hey Hawks100 I just got me the inspire 1 device holder for my RC. Yes its so much better stability wise but how are you getting the ipad pro in that thing? Mine is short at least an inch on maximum extension... Did you mod it further?

You guys get 2 clicks? LOL

Mine is extended all the way. There are no clicks. You want snug? LOL

10.1" tablet just fits in Inspire tablet mount with no extension needed.

I use an air 2.  It also just fits.  I hate it in sunlight, even with a shade.  Is the Pro any better in bright sunlight?

Bhujang,I've not made any mods to the  tablet holder.
This is the New IPad Pro 9.7"
It seems to work fine in sunlight. Turn of auto brightness in settings. I turn the brightness up to almost max when using it with P3p.

I had to return my iPad Pro, 9.7 and get a new one. It would not connect to the DJI GO app. I tried restoring it from iTunes instead of iCloud and that didn't work. It was an open box WIFi/Cell 128GB from Best Buy. Got the new one and kept it on 9.3, the other was on 9.3.1, don't know if that had anything to do with it! New one works great!

For me it's the perfect size. The iPhone is a great weight as you don't really feel it in the RC unit, but being over 40 it's a little small. The iPad Air is fantastic but it makes the RC rig so heavy. I know that there is a neck strap that you can buy, but for me that's overkill. The iPad Mini 2 is perfect. Adds a little weight but it's not too much. Visibility is great and you get a little more info on the larger screen. I did have some connectivity issues and found a post on Phantompilots Forum, which was to use a PC/Mac to restore to factory settings (the iPad) and it will connect. Being in IT I thought BS, but it did the job.

I find that the iPad mini 2 is an optimum fit for weight and viewing. The Air or pro is a bit heavy on the antenna end and can get tiring after a 20 minute flight holding it up for proper antenna angle placement. also the real estate on the larger screen can be a little distracting when flying. (My two cents)

I think the new iPad Pro (9.7") is the same size as the iPad Air 2 mini, but it's slimmer an lighter. The
2 mini will be cheaper.
