The signal from the GPS satellites is very small, it requires a precision antenna system to receive them properly, so it is not surprising that it does not work inside your house. It only takes a slightly different position and you may come up with a different count. Try doing the test outside in the open.

Like I said, try the same test outside in the open and see what you get. Normally it is not possible to see any GPS satellites inside a house. There may be slight differences in the reception systems, or perhaps the P4 is not set to receive GLONASS satellites. Is there a set-up for that in the menus?

How would you know if I am qualified or not? That was quite the over reaching statement. And I also feel that you calling me names is very uncalled for. I have used the p4. Have you?  It has many nice gimmicks, that is about it.  Perhaps you have not really read about all of the issues that the p4 is experiencing? Many users are experiencing things such far less range than the p3. As stated here, weaker satellite signals. Loss of video signal. Amongst other problems. So in what way is it better, if it doesnt work properly? But costs more. Please explain, rather than resort  to childish name calling.

P4 have 2 GPS. That is why it takes more time for the system to link and show up the 2 results in the same data.

Thank you for your educated response...

My P4 gets the same range as my P3P's consistently but the P4 gets better speed and flying time, this has been proven time after time regardless of the naysayers.

I think it's only fair to give the P4 a chance to catch up because anyone who buys top of the line technology at launch all knows bugs for days, I mean come on p3 has been out a long time already but I will say this It kinda sucks to that the P3 is better in some aspects then the newest  generation of phantom. I think with time the P4 we'll be the bird it's suppose to be the true successor to the Phantom3.

I had nothing better to do right now as it is raining out so I set up 3 of my DJI birds (one P4 and two P3P's) to test this for you... All three a running the most current software (RC, AC, tablets).  I was running three different devices to run the DJI go app but all three were running the same OS (Air2/mini4/6+) and all three had cellular. All three were setup side by side on a table indoors, the room has large windows, 13' ceilings and no issue capturing satellites from this position. All three birds are set up the same, calibrated etc. I left them sit for ~5-10 minutes and all three fluctuated back and forth holding a consistent 9-11 satellites alternating back and forth, while flying outside I usually see 16-18 on both the P4 and 3's...Take that for what it's worth as YMMV.

I'm not naysaying. I bought a Phantom 4 my P3 Pro will fly 3 miles easily flying the same exact flight path my p4 loses video at about 1.2 miles. I also have issues with the phantom for not picking up the same amount of satellites as my Phantom 3. So I am not the only one this is a very real problem that people are actually having issues with.

I would contest that the real problem is that people are not taking the time and setting up their P4 correctly... Out of the box when setup properly the P4 has no issue with keeping up to the 3. People are so quick to jump on in a dog pile fasion when someone gripes about a new/improved product instead of asking "Why"... Your post above is a prime example.

You clearly have no clue what you are talking about. I own a p4, as well as a p3pro, and. P2, and a p1. I have been flying RC for years. Especially DJI products. I just explained to you that I am experiencing a very real world issue, as are others. But, you are very quick to say that basically, I dont know what I am doing. Which is quite the contrary. I am more than aware of how to setup a Phantom. Yet I am still experiencing signal loss. But thanks for your invaluable insight. You have no idea what you are talking about. Just because your unit works fine, does not mean, that others have no issues. Go suck an egg.

An extra 30 seconds of startup time is not mission critical for most.   What is mission critical is maintaining GPS lock.  I would be interesting to see results from those with each on how they handle difficult GPS field conditions.

Here are two examples that come to mind:

Is there a difference of how they maintain lock under tree canopies?
How do they compare in canyons either city building canyons or natural ones?

Yes ... The P3 has only one GPS unit .. just like the P4.
The P4 has 2x IMU and 2x compass but only 1 GPS.

"How do they compare in canyons either city building canyons or natural ones?"
A canyon blocks out much of the sky and denies a view of whatever satellites are in the hidden parts.
No GPS can do anything about that.
If it can't see the satellites, it can't receive their signal.

I don't get why Cale262's post is being completly ignored.
He took the time to post his own tests and you still keep mouning about ignoring it.
Morph1, you got a faulty unit, go and call DJI.

Most of the time people forget the P3 had several "builds" that improved over time the GPS aislation (the stupid square thing in the top of the case) and the motors (shell cracks thing), so it was pretty obvious that buying the fresh-from-the-oven P4 wasn't a good idea. DJI makes incredible products, more cost efficient than any alternative on the market, but better yet, they keep improving them, either in firmware or in the making process.

A canyon blocks out ...

Understood - but is their a difference between them.
What angle of signal do they accept, how strong a signal gets past filtering etc.

You need to learn the difference between compass and GPS.
They are two completely unrelated systems.
Compass gives direction data, GPS gives position and speed data.
Compass is on the bottom of landing gear while GPS is inside the top of the shell.
