long over due.   stupidity and being reckless should be punished.      hand full is irresponsible people are the reason behind blanked laws and why commercial drone flying is so restricted

That would have made sense to do that!  Instead they blank restrict comercial drone operations and have little restrictions over all for everyone else.  And what they do have is not easily enforced.   

Faa really needs to go after a few popular open violators and make examples out of them!   I'm referring to people like that guy who was trying to get above a police heli to record the ground action and police heli in same shot

Absolutely!

The whole idea of revising the drone rules initially was to allow drones for commercial use but that all got hijacked by the idiots. Now the FAA and Congress is wasting money trying to figure it out and we're looking money waiting on better commercial rules.
