I got filmora on windows7, I am happy with it. I was using Go Pro software before, and it was ok, but... I wanted somethhing with a bit more features, and able to take mov or mp4 directly - go pro has to convert things to AVI....

To trim, crop, merge, rotate videos, some common free video converters can do this job easily, such as Windows Movie Maker, Freemake, Format Factory, etc
Turn to professional editor like Adobe Premiere pro, Sony Vegas Pro, Cyberlink PowerDirector...if you need powerful experience.
I recommend Corel VideoStudio and Camtasia Studio. Simple and user-friendly for beginner.

Hi all!
I am on windows - what I am looking for is ability to save my video as 2.7K from my P3A. I want ability to do PIP, also I like to seamlessly go into slow motion, then come back to standard or faster speed, without loosing or duplicating any frames at cut location. Having more slow motion options than 1 and .5 speed would be nice. Adding images into the movie would be nice too.... Can they handle 60FPS?

I had bad experience with filmora. Love the interface, but they stutter on cuts - so if you are cutting only to say go into slow-mo, there's a stutter, same on transitions.... Too bad, because their interface is real nice! If they fixed some of these issues, I'd keep it, no problem! It is a very promising software...  sad!

I did look at the Cyberlink PowerDirector, i do like the feature set and the interface, but I am not convinced it can save 2.7 or 4k video... everything else looks pretty nice. Not sure if it can save and deal with 60fps, and also saving I can save 24fps but not 29.97?

Filmora was $50, Cyberlink is like $80.
I did also look at iSkysoft Editor, which seems a lot like filmora, but that sucker also does not save above 1080 res, and I cannot figure out how to reverse a clip!
Go pro is free and nice, the negative is that it has to "convert to avi" when you import the video.. time and disk space...

Can anyone confirm if Cyberlink will export 2.7 or 4k video?

Anyhow, I will research the other ones mentioned here. Thx for all the names of editors!

I assume that all the nice adobe ones, are not one payment but a  only fee, or are they?

Thx all!

I view most of my videos using my i5-4300u CPU (2.5 GHz), 4GB RAM surface Pro 3. I get buttery smooth playback of 4k video @ 30 fps (monitor can handle 60 fps, but max output from video chip is 30fps) to my ASUS MG24UQ monitor. For editing I us my more powerful desktop (>4GHz liquid cooled, 24 GB RAM), although I have edited on the Surface pro 3 I feel it's a bit limited in comparison.
I suspect many of the 'gaming' variety laptops would have more than sufficient grunt in terms of CPU, RAM & GPU processing to handle most editing programs.

so 4GB RAM would be not enough? hmm 8GB or 16GB I see, I just want laptop for portability. maybe i'll try macbook pro 15inch 8GB or 16gb.

RAM would help, but a good GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) and CPU would probably be of more benefit. 4k is a relatively new format so its likely that 'older' machines wouldn't support that graphics format. Also the playback/editing software plays a big part.

I think Aardvark is right. My 2011 Mac Book Pro is slower at editing 4K than a 2013 version we have, even though mine now has a SSD and has a faster processor. Difference is in graphics card and memory.

This is where DJI lacks.  I cannot explain how absolutely frustrating it is that DJI does not offer their own video editor for desktop PC for reasons more than one.  For starters, the video library that is on my mobile device that was recorded from my flights is not in 4k quality.  At times, it is very choppy, particularly if the radio signal was close to getting out of range.  When I try to import the raw footage from SD, even with the mobile device connected directly to the drone the app doesn't see the camera connection.  Why can I not just put my SD card in my mobile device and import it that way?!  Why not build a desktop app like GoPro Studio for DJI drones?  After paying $1600 on this bird and all the accessories, I would think the last thing I would need to do is spend upwards of another $100+ on software that may or may not handle the quality I need.  For the love of god DJI, please come out with a half decent desktop app for video editing.  Who realistically wants to edit and render 4k videos on a mobile device anyway...?

If DJI had made a decent manual for their things you would have been able to read in there that the editor is only for the downsized videos ...

I never had tried to use it btw.

Why mind if it is common or not, if you like it and it works for you then enjoy. Only if in need of help it might be a problem using something rare but i am sure a lot of people is using it, so if unable to get help here you sure can get it on other places.

I have not used it for video editing, only to export my videos as tiff files as former versions of DaVinci Resolve wouldn't import my P4P recorded HEVC/H265 encoded movies, it does a brilliant job with nice sharp pictures even in scenes with a lot of movement.

Also i have a license for the Cyberlink Power Director Suite that many likes to use, i never use it anyway as i found it to be too much pop and too little quality for my like.

Again if you like what you use, enjoy and ignore the snobs that think they know better.

I am not savvy enough to have the knowledge base to work from on my own --- that is why I ask questions.   There is no implication that I will act on the information derived - if any - but it can never hurt to gather knowledge.
What is interesting is the fact that there has been close to a zero response to the question.  I have also asked a couple of other users that have posted good video clips what they use - no answer is the grim reply !  Seems like a dim dark secret

The only way to make a video slow motion without duplicating frames and what not is to record in a high frame rate like 120fps which the Phantom 4 can record but I don't think any of the P3 series has this option.

Sorry that is not correct, advanced software can calculate and insert new frames from the difference between the recorded frames to make slowmo looking more smooth and less jumpy.
Even it never will be the same as if it was recorded, ex. DaVinci Resolve makes a pleasant job this way but it add up on the rendering time.

I am btw sure Phantomski has found some way to get more of what was wanted during the almost two years that has passed.

They might be afraid the answer will result in a ''"you gotta be kidding" sort of outlook'' ...
Again if like using what you use and get the result you wan't simply don't care what other might think, i dosen't matter at all.

I must admit than when i read here about questions and issues regarding the editor build into the app i like getting a ''"you gotta be kidding" sort of outlook'' in my face, but keep it to myself.
And honest said, i have no reason as i have never even tried the builtin editor, can't imagine using a video editor on anything but a computer with nice large monitors and decent input devices. If people like it and get their wanted results, it would be none of my business.
