Hi guy just getting a new p4 and I'm new to all this
So what's the best tablet to get apple or Samsung

I used both the ipad air and note 4. I prefer the android set up over apple. It a personal preference. I am thinking of purchasing the Nvidia K1. It's 1080 and 4k ready.

As already said, it depends on personal preference. I use Android but have used apple as well. Check the compatibility list and choose what's best for you (budget + personal preferences). Only other thing I can think of, if you have everything Apple at home iPad makes more sense I guess while if you have nothing Apple Android might be the better choice

I have the NVIDA Shield, which is a GREAT tablet but its so hard to see outside, even with an anti glare shield and hood over it.

I tried an iPad Mini 2 with it and it was just as hard to see.

Appel tabs are good for OUT Side ! I means in Sun

I don't mind both but I've been looking at the Samsung s2 or the iPad Pro both with 4g I only want a 9.7 inch screen because of how heavy it will be on the controller but I don't think I can justify the price tag of the iPad

I use a Samsung Tab S2 9.7 with an extender bracket. Its reasonable outside, even with no glare shield. I've been very happy with it. When not flying, it just becomes my everyday tablet.. I prefer a big screen, but of course its personal preference on that. I've had no problems with the DJI Go app on the S2.

I use a Xperia Z4 Tablet. Light, waterproof, and widescreen 10.1" 2K screen. Has a built-in GPS. Very efficient on battery too. Since it's light and widescreen, I haven't need an extender yet.

have note 4 works good but sunshiels is nesscary,but i wont a shield k1 more diisplay!

I have an LG G Pad F LTE 8.0 and it does fairly well though I need the sunshield, and my S6 Edge+ works probably the best.

12.9 iPad pro. You need an adapter to get to work but it is awesome. #applefanboy

One more thing to consider is maps..   I have an Android Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and an iOS iPad Air.

It appears that for satellite view, Android devices show Google maps in the DJI Go app..  iOS devices show the Bing maps.  

In my case the Google maps are a bit newer, but they took the satellite photos in the autumn when things were brown and dirty looking.  The Bing maps were taken in the summer when everything was green.  I prefer the Bing maps for my area.  Of course you might find Google maps to be better where you live.

I use the Asus Google Nexus 7 2013. Great price and until now  great.

iPad Mini 4 with Wi-Fi and cellular. Just right, great display and not bulky. Grab the DJI Hood as well. You can see the screen without it but, it is much better with the Hood in bright sun light.

I use a Sansumg Tab S, although not in the list of DJI, works perfectly
I believe both are good (Sansumg and apple), you just should even worry about getting a tablet with good power processamente not to have delays in the videos

I bought the iPad Air 2 and I am happy with it.  Only thing that is upsetting is that the Sun hood does not fit the full size iPad (only fits minis).  Will have to create a sun hood myself

just switched from Samsung Galaxy tab 3, 8" to Galaxy Tab 4 http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab/SM-T230NZWAXAR for Dronin only, DJIGo and Android running, no other apps running, works flawless.

One also needs to consider any 3rd party app one might later want to use.  For instance Autoflight Logic's Autopilot only works with Apple.

Where did you find adapter for the pro?

I bought the Google Nexus 9 specifically for my P4 and works flawlessly, just takes a hella long time to charge

You can buy inexpensive foldable sun hoods for the iPad Air 2 from a variety of eBay vendors for less than $20.

huge plus is wifi only version has gps....

i use my note 4 but will be getting the shield k1

I just went with ipad air 2 cellular and love it

yes, but there was a bug, after switching the app to video mode, "screen went fuzzy" I had to exit the DJI app, then re enter while in video mode, then it seemed to work okay.

In same boat and not taking 12 hours out of my day trying to figure it out..
Found cheap 7 to 9in screens that are android 5.1 and 4k screen for less than 200$ on eBay...Im going to give it a try...As long as it has wifi where it can pull up your map your good to go from what i understand...I could careless about brand names as i just want a nice bigger screen

I am new to all this but I chose an Ipad Pro 9.7 in version it also does video in 4K same as the Phantom 4 so using video from both units are great. Also the 128gig version has a great potential of not running out of room.

The iPad Pro 9.7 is what I use. I can't speak for the other ones, but with the new anti-reflective coating, you can see the screen in direct sunlight. Of course, if you stand out in the sun long enough, the iPad will overheat and shut itself off.

I think iPad Pro 9.7 is a good choice fact that you can see all that's going on without hood monitor is a big bonus,
PS, if I stood out in the sun for to long I would almost certainly be in a different country, wouldn't that be nice

Costco had a really good deal on Samsung Tab As last month, so I bought one of those. Works very well, nice size that fits in the stock P4 controller bracket, but even with a sun shield, a bit hard to read in direct sunlight.

Does it really good even without the hood outside.. is it because of the TRUE Tone setting ?

I planning to get one .. and will also be my photo and video editor..

Have a Samsung Galaxy S2 Tab 9.7....worked great. Big screen.
