DJI Tim, Ken or Dave

I SOLD my Inspire 1 V1 aircraft and I would like to know how the new owner can register the serial number to them???  

They have the DJI Go App installed and creating a new account. What can I do to help them with a smooth transition?

Hi Rob,

I have the Inspire 1 V2 and two Phantoms... I am not going anywhere  

Just do not need the extra Inspire at this point.

The last thing I heard from DJI and other pilots who had the same question was: not possible. But that was several months ago, maybe they changed something in their backend systems to allow it now.

Hi Rich! If your Inspire is under warranty please make  that you give your buyer a proof of purchase so he will  be able to use the warranty after.

I think he's talking about registering the aircraft to the new owner in the app.   I could be wrong..... and it wouldn't be the first time.

Hi Jim

The Inspire has about 1 month left on the warranty, but the main point to my question is the registering the aircraft (serial number) to the new owner in the app.  This way the new owner has complete visibility to DJI as the new owner of the aircraft.

Maybe this is not possible and all DJI wants is.... to keep track of the warranty responsibility of their company. I thought it was more than that lost and found or other possibilities.

Tim,
Registering the aircraft to the new owner (serial number)  Can this be changed from my email to the new owner's email.
The warranty will expire in one month and not really an issue. I was hoping you have a way to make the change on your server. That way in case you need to contact the new owner for any reason.

I just bought a used inspire and it just automatically added it to the App with the rest of DJI ones....everything seems fine but I can't find anywhere to register it unless I have a service problem.

So I guess know one will ever know...lol

Hi Rich! There is no need to change the e-mail or do anything else. Just make sure you gave him a proof of purchase

What I would worry about in selling on an Inspire/Phantom is... What if the new owner uses it maliciously? Or perhaps you know them, trust them, etc. but then they sell it on to someone else who uses it maliciously. I mean, if they crash it into an A380 at Heathrow then the police go to DJI to find out who that serial belongs to... If you've used eBay or something, you might have some evidence but it'd be a hard case to make that it wasn't you...

NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME... how much DJI avoids saying that something is NOT POSSIBLE.   Like your question was if it was possible to register the drone under another person's name.. to which the only answer is YES or NO.  but instead.. DJI RESPONDED,   " there is no need to do this, just give the buyer proof of purchase"    lol   pathetic.

I guess the DJI servers do not have the ability to change ownership. You can change the name of the aircraft on the new owners device and they login to their new DJI account. Now they can take it from there.

Yes, it was not the best way to handle it but the new owner was happy and no problems!
