Hi all
does anyone have some Information about the native iso of the X5/X5r? Can't find it anywhere...
Normally black Magic sensors have it's native iso at 800 - but after testing the x5 and x5r it's definetly not at 800 cause it's allready quite noisy there...
would be great to get this inf...
DJI?

I'm hoping it will have the proper dynamic range at ISO 100 cause I want to fly with only a polarizer and still be able to keep my shutter in the 1/60th. Range at a medium t stop.

i have no official information, but according to a test i did it must be around iso 100-200 higher than that the noise starts to rise. but it seems that the dynamic range stays constant with different iso's unlike blackmagic cameras.

exactly this was also my experience...
Anyway it would great to get those Information from DJI. They announcing the X5R as a "professional camera" for "professional filmmakers" and everybody who uses professional cameras wants to get These Infos...

I put up a thread asking this when the X5 came out... got no info from DJI. I know most if not all M 4/3 sensors have a base iso of 200 and iso 100 actually has more noise. Would be nice to know if the X5 series is the same.

With X5 I see that ISO 200 is the best. But with X5R ISO 100 is better.

From the DJI specs page the cameras are the same. Yet here we have various ISO settings affecting the Pro & Raw. Keeping up with Project Inspire is getting a little tedious.

It would be strange to get more noise at ISO 100 that at 200, usually the downside to lower ISOs is decreased dynamic range, not noise. It actually comforting that the ISO is so low, I'd expect that the MFT sensor would want lots of light.

Direct from DJI R&D....

"We set the native ISO to 100, which is slightly higher than the standard ISO 100. The video is YUV420 8bit with a tone curve dynamically adapte to the scene. You won't get 12.8 fstops from a normal video. You can compare the DNG of X5 and GH4, to see the difference of the dynamic range. Then you can get the DR of GH4 in DXOMark."
