Can someone help me and tell me which tablet I should buy or what brands are compatible with the DJI GO app. I have had to send two tablets back because not compatible. Do they have to have a certain kind of operating system, If anyone has a list of what will and what won't work as far as brands would be greatly appreciated.

I use an iPad mini 4 with cellular connectivity. Love it. I've heard of people using mini 2's as well. Not 100% if you need the cellular model for gps maybe someone else does. I've also heard the nvidia tablets work perfectly as well.

The Nexus 7 , 2013 version, is supposed to be a kickass tablet. I have one on the way so I can't say for positive. However, I did a bunch of research before pulling the trigger and the Nexus 7 came out the clear winner among Phantom pilots.

I think the least expensive one that works well if you want Android is the Nvidia shield K. For iOS I have an iPad Air and it works great.

They say iPad mini is best I've been using my Samsung s5 for the moment but have a nvidia shield k1 ordered its a gaming tablet with a great processor so it can handle the dji app pretty dam good

I use a mini 4 with cellular and it works fantastic. Just be sure to use the factory cable to connect as I have suffered issues with the third party cables.

I read somewhere that my RCA Voyager 7 2would be fine but not on list.

since my galaxy note 4 cannot fit on xiro (max 5'5 inch to fit on holder) and i've to carrying 2 cellphones for playing both drone (dji & xiro), I guess not as specific brand you have to buy, I buy cheap cellphone galaxy s7 (clone) for $ 80, i got smooth fpv (no lagg, no app crash, no force close..etc etc) like experienced people here

so i think its no need to purchasing specific tab/cellphone, but use it for special-purpose for drones only, do not install a variety of applications, I think enough

I have been successfully using the Nvidia Shield and the Samsung Tab S2.

This list has some additional devices that are not on the DJI list but have been confirmed to work by pilots.

I like the nexus 9.

The IOS (Apple) is by far the best operating system. DJI and Apple have a close relationship. I started with an iPad and found that it was just to big. I switched to an iPad Mini 4 128GB with Wi-Fi and Cellular. It is a match made in heaven. Not to big and not to small. Incredible Display, light weight and more than enough speed. The DJI Hood is a perfect fit as well.

Nvidia Shield Tablet works great. Hoods to fit it are in short stock so I just modified an iPad mini hood to fit it.

That's what I have.
Works for me.
Definitely not on the high end but for less than 40 bucks I just use it for my P3A.
And if it breaks I'm out 40 bucks.

I own a Samsung S4 smartphone and a Samsung Tab S 10.5" tablet.  Neither are on the approved list, but both work fine with my P3A.   I also have a Samsung Tab 3 8" tablet, but I haven't been able to get live video feed to work on it, so it might not have enough horsepower or I don't have the correct settings.  The S4 phone screen is too small and the Tab S 10.5" screen is very large, so it would be nice if I could use the 8" Tab 3 just with the P3A and not need an extender bracket.   Is anyone else using a Tab 3 8" successfully?

I can not use Ipad Air 2 and Iphone 6 plus , DJI GO writes - How to Connect  , can somebody help?  Thanks in advance !

He has to go through his settings and see what is on and what is off. Something is disabled. I went through the same issue with my iPad Mini 4. It worked fine and in the interim I had turned things off to help keep my Data time down. Totally my fault.

Remove the app and reinstall it. I use both my iphone6 and my iPad 9.7 pro

yes you can..check your restrictions and ensure you have allowed the app access as required

Does your battery drain if you don't use it for awhile?
That's the only negative so far.
Even if it's off the battery goes down to zero.

Haven't noticed it going down.

I have been successfully using the RCA Voyager (Android 5.0.1) from Walmart at $50 with my Phantom 3 Pro.  The tablet  has Wifi and will connect to the Internet, but it is NOT a phone, so you cannot send images immediately over the phone line.  So far, DJI has not approved this 5 x 7 tablet, but it works.  The tablet MUST connect with the controller, which is sometimes a problem.  1. Turn on the controller.  2. Turn on the quadcopter.  3. Plug the tablet into the controller with a USB cable.  Usually the tablet will automatically turn on and will connect to the controller via the USB cable (you will see the steps in drop-down messages at the top of the page when this happens..)  4.  Otherwise, plug in the tablet to the controller,  open the GO app, and hope that it connects.  Sometimes it is necessary to close the GO app, and re-open it.
