Anyone checked out this cool little drone? It retails for 200-300 dollars. Weighs 130 grams and takes 16mp photos and 1080p videos. Has 360 obstacle avoidance, gps follow mode, smile detection and more. Not much range, think around 100 meter or so, but seems like a great little drone to take on vacation with you to get some great shots. DJI you should acquire this company asap and introduce it into your product line! That's how you'll hit the masses!

I think DJI has already 'hit the masses', they are the largest selling drone by far. The very limited control range of this drone would drive most people nuts, except for the self-obsessed selfie crowd.

O I know DJI is killing it, the founder is already a billionaire. I love the current drones they have, specifically because of the range. I think they are two different markets. Like you said, it would be for the "selfie obsessed crowd". But look at how many people buy GoPros to show themselves off. I'd prefer to spend 200-300 dollars for a drone where i can get some really cool shots that takes the pictures for me, rather than a little $500 camera that sits in my hand or on a mount. Phantoms are great, but what's wrong with expanding your product line to appeal to a different market?

I think DJI do appeal to a range of different markets, it is just that they prefer to concentrate on the higher end market, not flying selfie sticks. The other thing to keep firmly in mind is the Onagofly is a crowd funded concept, it is not available for purchase and may never be. I am very sceptical of crowd-funded drones, too many have popped up and subsequently disappeared.

It can be a fine line between a crowdfunded failure and a scam.
The road to happy drone flying is littered with crowdfunded failures.
Look at Zano, Cyphy, Plexidrone and several others that have failed to deliver well past the promised date
Whatever the situation is with Onagofly, they have a lot of unhappy customers: https://www.facebook.com/Onagofl ... 7903751445/?fref=ts

Don't cheer yet....Look at youtube: no decent performance to be expected. Flying is very unstable. Hard to get any use able footage. ..
