Hi Ken,
when I originally posted the message, the title was correct, I had been advised by company that DJI was not covering warranty because the battery had been registered long before I received it. Before this issue I had no idea about the fact that batteries are registered when installed into drone for first time.
After finding the company had decided to replace the battery I wanted to ensure this issue didn't occur again in future so that's why I’m on here.
This problem has a number of possible causes:
· I purchased battery months before drone off ebay or equivalent
· I was given a used battery when I purchased drone
· DJI database for tracking batteries has a bug linking batteries to incorrect user
I’m sure there are more options.
So firstly option 1 didn't happen and kind off dumb idea, 1 down.
Second option is likely
Third option is less likely but possible.
So when I purchased my drone I would have expected the serial number on the box to be recorded and all the components serial numbers within to be linked to that drone.
Any additional components serial numbers supplied with drone to be recorded against it. (could list on invoice so both have a record)
I cannot be sure this was done so this could be most likely cause.
We cannot leave out that the last possibility occurred. How can i check against my purchase what i should own e.g.
· DJI Inspire 1 v2 - Serial: xxxxxxxx
· TB47 - Serial: xxxxxxx
· RC - Serial: xxxxxx
· Extras:
· TB47 - Serial: xxxxxx
Is it possible to see what is registered against my account and what batteries are linked to my machine?
I am considering upgrading my drone in the future but I want to be assured that I don’t have this same problem in future. It would be good to be able to see online what DJI thinks I own after I have purchased.
Anyway enough of a rant for 1 day
