Looking for ideas on how to increase flight time.

Obvious things include:
* use the biggest battery possible given the max takeoff weight.  Most people seem to be using a 16000 mAh battery. If you can get your copter's weight down there's a 22000 mAh battery that people are using as well.
* upgrade to the E1200.  Marketing material says you'll get an additional 28% flight time... not sure if this is true or not though.  Started a new thread to get more information on this.

Other things people have tried / thought about:
* found this thread...  convert S900 to a Quad Copter

Would be great to hear from others on what they've done to increase flight time.

Would also be good to hear what people have tried but didn't work.

How much more flight time are you looking for? I run both the 16,000 and 22,000 batteries. The 22,000's are generally around $125-$150 more depending on brand but I only get around an additional 4-7 mins depending on the type of maneuvering I'm doing. However, as you probably know, the most important part is how folks take care of the Lipo's after flying to maintain original flying times..

What are you carrying? I have an s900 fully loaded with gh4 and I get 15-17mins @ 7000' take off. I would probably look for better batteries. I run GenACE or troybuilt models packs

My build: S900, GH4, A2, Mark II, FPV camera, 2 wireless vts, 12000 mAh Tattu battery.

I've got room to move to a 16000 battery but the 22000 mAh puts me over the 18 lb takeoff weight limit.   I cycle my batteries every month or so and th cell voltages are all still pretty consistent.   Not sure what best practices are though on how often to cycle?

My goal is to get 30+ minutes of flight time...  not sure if that's possible though.

Blade, I think I might have confused this..I meant with the 22,000 I get an additional 4-7 mins over the 16,000...I run TBM 22000 and Exotic 16000

Sooo...the real issue is weight...I've seen a couple guys snooping on the X5 to see if they can make it work with a 900...I dont know if theres a solution yet but I would think it would be significantly lighter. Bladestrike could probably weigh in on that....
