Is there only 2 settings for photo quality on the P4 ? I can only see standard setting which gives you a 4mb photo that goes blocky as soon as you start to zoom and the other setting is raw which I am not as yet used before.

I don't have any problem in zooming into the JPEG image, at least not until I hit individual pixel stage. Does your image pixelate immediately you start to zoom ?

Like Aardvark, I don't have any problem zooming into still shots tasken with the P3 camera, and it is essentially the same as the P4. What hardware are you viewing them on?

mstevents1,

Have you tried opening the camera, and selecting menu on the top right side, then changing the image size to 16:9?

For a new user, you'll want to be shooting in Jpg only. Unless you know how to edit RAW files.

16:9 is a cropped format.  4:3 Gives you the full sensor area available.  Always choose 4:3 & you can crop later.

What are the pixel dimensions of your images?  At 4:3 you should have 4000 x 3000 pixels.

I would shoot RAW every time, especially if you're not happy with the jpg output.  Processing RAW is as easy or hard as you want to make it, assuming you have the software to do it.

In all cases it seems the common factor is what program you are using to view the images. Try opening them in a decent program like Photoshop or Lightroom.

I was having a play about last night and I think my problem I was having was viewing and sending the preview photo, i am sure I took the mem card out of the P4 and put it in my PC for download, last night I put a lead from P4 to tx and I could download and see photos that were clear and sharp
