Has any one ever flown in any rainy situation? And if so what was the result?

I would advise against doing this at all costs. None of the DJI Phantoms are Waterproof or Water resistant.
EDIT: I wouldn't even fly if the forecast said it MIGHT rain. It would be really horrible if it started to pour while my bird was in the air.

I think its safe to assume he knows not to fly in the rain or wet weather, which is why he is asking the question.  I have wondered the same question but am not willing to try it with my Phantom.

Any rain on the lens and you can't get any good images.

I lost a P2 bringing it in when a shower started.
I got the P2 to 20 feet away, paused to wipe rain from my glasses and it took off and crashed some distance away.

Also remember, if anything get wet inside the aircraft that automatically voids your warranty.

Only once have I had a bird in the sky when it started to rain. I bought it down quickly and landed safely. Labroides, sorry to hear that yours got wet enough to malfunction.

Also note: it isn't just rain. At least one user posted here not to long ago saying that they lost control of their UAV while it was flying over waterfalls, which had plenty of mist.

If I was filthy rich I would buy a lorry load of P4's and put them through some vigorous  testing.

# Storm test
# Surf in a roller test
# Through a waterfall test
# Through a flaming inferno test

The possibilities are endless.

I fly mine when we have steady rain including downpours. Never had a problem. I also fly during a snowstorm with blizzard conditions without the snow bothering it one bit.

Did I mention that I am inside and flying with it in simulator mode?

If water does get inside, it could damage components.

In reality, avoid it. Moisture and voltage don't mix very well.

Agreed... water and electronics are like cats and dogs... they just don't get along.

I have a suspicion there is a moisture tell-tale inside the Phantom, if it gets wet, kiss your warranty goodbye.

Yes, the voltage and current go everywhere that they don't belong in.
