I've recently bought a P2 vision plus v3. Like the well aged toddler that I am, I unboxed it, assembled everything and did some hover testing and a few quick flights to familiarize myself with the little guy. Conceptually not too much different than the FC40 I started with to learn flying quads. Sadly, I followed the suggestions of others and upgraded to the latest and greatest firmware and assistant software.

Now, I can establish contact with the transmitter and FPV link. When I raise the left stick above center, nothing happens. It will not take off.

A full calibration was done with the assistant software.
Compass calibration was done prior to the flight attempt.
Transmitter, aircraft and range boost batteries were all charged.     Motors all start with no issue(s).

Anyone else had this or similar issues and solved them? Help a noob out please.

Yeah, if you're already familiar with flying an FC40 it should be no different.  There is a difference in software,  The Phantom 2 series uses the Phantom 2 Vision Assistant rather than the NAZA assistant. The default is supposed to be mode 2 but you should check and see if it is set to mode 1 (if the RIGHT stick controls the throttle that would kinda confirm it)

Left stick works the throttle. Thanks for your input. These quads are not as simple as they look. When they work, they're sure as heck fun though.

Did you do the calibration in RC Assistant first, then in Phantom Assistant?

"When I raise the left stick above center, nothing happens"

You need to give it full throttle to take off smoothly, just a burst to get it in the air.
Sounds like you are not giving it enough power.

Everything was set up exactly the way the manual showed.

It got full throttle to the stop! Also looked at what should be showing up under gain and it was spot on.

What colours are the rear status LEDs displaying?

Are you using Phantom or Naza mode?

Make sure you are not in an airport zone. The Phantom will not take off if you are inside the no fly zone.

Same thing happened to me on a Phantom Vision 2.  Went to fly and it would not get any lift.  I found that my T channel in the software was not working which is the throttle.  Went through tech support and had to send it in for repairs.  Did everything you did multiple times.  I'm guessing that the new software was the culprit.

Using phantom instead if naza.

Everything is green and supposedly OK according to their color chart

Mark this one solved. According to support, "occasionally", when you update or upgrade, your settings don't stay persistent. I was not in the right mode. The throttle barely moved at all. Once the mode switch and recalibration were done, everything was cool.

Thanks for everyone's input.
