Given the scenario you've just shared, the rational choice would be to shoot 1080p @ 60fps.
I shot some videos in 4k @ 30 fps and my Macbook Pro (circa mid-2011), 16GB RAM, 1TB Samsung Evo 6G SSD can barely handle it in iMovie. I don't even want to know how it will do in FCP or Premiere.
Let me know if you have a 1080p TV and I'll send you a link to two of my videos - one shot in 1080p and exported as 1080p, and another shot in 4k and exported to 1080p. You can see if there is a difference and decide for yourself if it's worth the hassle. |
