Here's the video I shot this past weekend of a Gray whale and her calf off the coast of Leo Carrillo beach. At one point in the video you see the mother whale push her calf to the surface. I imagine her being just like our own mothers - encouraging our first baby steps. We were so pumped to have spotted them at sunset and followed above them for a brief moment of their journey north.
Wonder if you didn't pass another on the way to your turnaround point at the end. Sure looked like a blowhole popped up at one point shortly after your slowdown of forward speed.

Hmmmm. didn't see anything in the review, but my battery was at 30% and I get nervous over water e ...
It is not nerves to bring the bird home at 30%. It is good common sense. If you hit 10% the bird will land wherever it is, including in the water. Or, just as you think you made it home and the drone is within 60 feet, it will land where it is.
Just saw a video of a somewhat similar situation. Well, it includes sword killer whales, chasing a shark. Awesomely captured by someone with his Phantom 3 Pro.
