Picked it up a little while ago, tilted it backward to clean the camera lens, and this little piece of plastic fell out. Possibly out of the battery compartment, but may also have fallen through an arm vent.

Checked the baterry compartment thoroughly, as well as the batteries, and they're fine. Possibly something left over from assembly? Maybe part of a shell clip?

Thoughts?

The side in the pic is flat, the other side has a bevel to it. Let me get a pic if I can.

Nope, very solid, nothing's moving.

I had a similar bit come off my P3 - Mine was a bit smaller and was slightly angled. (Note I have Never Crashed, or even had a hard landing)

On further examination of a friends Phantom 3P that he had opened, it was clear that there are a number of (Flimsy) tabs holding the two shells together and my piece was from one of the tabs that broke of for whatever reason.

There is no indication along any of the seams that a tab is broken, as the shell half's slot in very securely.

I stopped worryig about mine once i knew what it was.

After further examination, that's exactly what it is. If you shine a flashlight through top vents on the upper shell arm, you can see the top of the clips. I can see 7 tops of clips, one is obviously missing.

With 11 clips and and 16 screws, not too worried.

I wouldn't worry about it to be honest. Now if you keep getting more, that's a different question

Yeah, no worries. Can't see it being an issue in anyway.

Would be nice if it didn't happen though.

Absolutely agree, it just shouldn't happen, there should be no reason for this to happen, but........!
Hey it was the super sonic speed and distance you did that broke the tab, sheer force on the shell caused it!!!. NOT.
