if we use it in Auto focus?    Just received a new inspire 1 Pro with the X5.  I know for manual mode you should....

Read the manual a bit more. Don't be in a rush to take your new bird up before you have gone over all aspects of it's systems. Watch as many video tutorials as you can stand. I say all that because you have it backwards. Manual focus is exactly what it says. You move the slider up and down until you like the focus. No calibration required or for that matter, calibration isn't a factor in manual focus mode. Yes, you should calibrate each lens you own. I found it to be a bit of trial and error as the first few attempts didn't  give sharp results but once it was done correctly, that should be it. Just so you know. "Manual" focus has two choices. One is to place the lens itself into manual mode and pre-set the focus, usually at infinity. The second is to leave the lens in auto and use the manual controls in the app. Congrats on your new bird and enjoy. Fly safe.
