I've been looking into backpacks for airline travel, and id prefer a backpack over a hardcase because I know it can't get lost through checking baggage, and Im just more comfortable knowing it's with me. What is a backpack that wont cost an arm or leg and that could fit under the seat in front of me on an airplane? Thanks.

I got this one. It came with motor guards (rubberized plastic caps) that seem to be helpfull.

I have the Osprey 65 the p4 fits a treat in its box and lots of other places to put odds and sods in

I have a gopro case and I have taken it with me as a carry on.  I do not think a phantom would survive going through checked baggage as the baggage handlers make it a point to mishandle our luggage.

I got this one, works well considering how huge the bird is.

I have the same bag, very pleased with it. But you need to be fit to carry it fully loaded with extra batteries and iPad etc......Must be 15-20 kilos.

I am using a Dakine Sequence 33L, you can see pics on this thread( http://forum.dji.com/thread-14974-1-1.html ). It is super convenient, however it is not fitting under a seat but in the overhead compartment. I have been walking long distances and also skiing with it and it is perfect. let me know if you need more pics.

Another vote for the D1. We did a review of it here if you're interested.

Just not sure if it would fit under the seat in front of you. It's quite big.

i would even tend to say that NO bags designed to carry a P3 would fit below the seat. Overhead is the best.

I don't think any P3/P4 backpack will fit under the seat. Of the 5 or 6 bags I tested for product development, none of them would fit under the seat.

The one we came out with is pretty sweet:
