RC won't connect to DJI Go app after upgrading firmware

Hi,

I have upgraded RC to the latest firmware 1.3.2 (you are suppose to upgrade from the App from this version, however this is not possible). Also the Drone itself got upgraded to the latest firmware 1.8.8

Now when I try to connect the iPhone 6 to the RC controller it just says "How to connect" under Equipment in the DJI Go app.

I have tried everything:

1. Restored my iPhone 6 through iTunes on my Mac
2. Re-installed the app
3. Tried several USB cables (originally Apple ones)
4. Tried installing the app on an iPhone 5S and connecting with several USB cables

...and still without any luck:

1. Phantom 3 constantly flashes yellow light
2. RC controller do have green colour when both RC and Drone is powered on.
2.1 I'm able to move the gimbal with the RC - so there is some pairing happening from the RC to the Drone

However I'm still not able to connect the RC to the DJI Go app. It doesn't seem like there is any problems with the USB port since I'm prompted with messages such as "Do you want DJI to be able to use the camera and sound etc" when connecting the cable from the RC to the iPhone 6.

iPhone 6
iOS: 9.3.1
DJI Go: 2.8.1
Dji Phantom 3 advanced

The iPhone 5S I tested on had iOS 9.2 installed.


Worth mentioning. It was working fine before I did the firmware upgrade.

I am searching for the exact same fix

Front LEDs solid red.
Fast flashing yellow in the rear.
camera works but I CANNOT move the gimbal.
Pairing light n the P4 blinks twice while it and the controller are on.
I CANNOT get a drop-down list of previous firmware versions with DJI Go
The phone DOES NOT ask to "trust this device" when it's plugged in; controller does NOT keep my iPhone 6S+ charged (like my Inspire 1 controller did)
DJI Assistant 2 fails at loading firmware.

This is freaking sad.  My Inspire 1 NEVER gave me this much crap.  I just want to get in the air again!

Good luck.  I am troubleshooting and if I figure something out, I will certainly post.

Hello fredrikk, firstly, did you try android device? Secondly, it is necessary to upgrade the RC to 1.6.0 version to solve the "Signal Lost" issue. 指示灯.JPG

No I did not try on an android device as I do not have access to this.

I cannot find the 1.6.0 version here?

Update: Tried to upgrade to iOS 9.3.2 - no difference. Still same issue.

Seems like they have big issues with iOS devices and the iOS App after the latest firmware. Over 60 reviews (in the Norwegian App store) is giving 1 star and saying similar issues like we have.

I also spoke to DJI Support Chat for 5 hours today (!!) The conclusion I got was: You need to try on an Android device.

Thanks DJI for wasting my time!

Hi,
I just got the DJI Pro from Best Buy. It worked very well straight from the box.
Following day I decided to upgrade the bird to the latest Version. The aircraft updated with out any problem, but the RC would not update from the card.  The system no longer worked (NO RC signal).
I spoke with the DJI rep and nothing would solve this issue. At the end they told me to exchange the Drone.
I did and now I'm flying with the original firmware. The DJI App would not display the firmware version on the old one nor the new one. It states: Aircraft and RC "version Unknown".
Hopefully, The DJI team is working on this issue. Unless they find the bug in the firmware don't update the Phantom 3 Pro.

That's what the DJI rep suggested, But it works fine from the box, so I'll wait a little bit before attempting to update the firmware again.

I had the same problem.

First off I ran the dji go app on my iphone6 plus for about 2 weeks with ios 9.2 and then got a ipad mini 2 which had the latest ios software on it and it would not connect to the dji app.

This is how I fixed it in these steps:

Delete dji app off device.

Back up device in itunes.

Restore ios 9.3.1 or what ever latest version is in itunes. It should first download the 1.88gb file then install on device.

Install latest back up.

Re-download the dji go app.

Should work. Exactly what I did and it works fine now.

The 1.6 RC firmware could be only downloaded in DJI GO app. It is necessary to try Android devices and IOS  devices which are not running IOS 9.3.1 because the connection issue is related to IOS 9.3.1 compatibility.As what you say, your iPhone 5s with 9.2 doesn't connect to your RC, so if all of your devices do not connect as normal , it is possibly a hardware issue and please get in touch with our support and send the RC for diagnosis.

I tested with Android device today as well. Not able to recognise the RC.

Any other suggestions?
