I cant figure this out and suspect it happened since firmware update (P3S_FW_V01.08.0080)

I tried taking AEB (3 shots) with 4:3 ratio and dng+jpg options

When I check the images the dng is 960x720 but the jpg is 4000x3000

Anyone can help understand why the DNG is so low resolution?

I suspect you are lookin at a thumbnail and not the .dng file?

I manually pulled the files from the DCIM folder on the SD card.

The DNG file itself is full size approx 22MB but the resolution is 960x720

Cant understand it

As labroides says, you're probably not seeing the actual DNG file.  There's a jpg file embedded within the DNG file that programmes extract if they can't process the RAW DNG file itself, so even though you're clicking on the DNG file, you're not seeing it.

Try a different programme that can process the DNG file.

You are very wise. I was using ifranview and it must be pulling a thumbnail. I tried photoshop and the resolution was there - a great relief and mystery solved. Thank you

No worries.  I miss Irfanview on my Mac, there's no better image viewer for jpg's.

I use the Adobe Photoshop RAW image viewer, works great. Also allows you to change RAW photo settings there as well.

i have also this issue but when looking at the photo on lightroom or photoshop it looks ok

The dng file needs specialised software to view it.
If the software you use cannot read the dng file, all you see is the tiny thumbnail preview jpg image that's inside the dng file.
