i was too lazy to do all of this, I just did a full reset on my Ipad, then restored the Ipad from an old date, now I am running like 2.7.0, but I have a great signal again! just in time for the weekend.

Like this and worse. Signal timeouts at close distances of only 10 .. 20 meters für 15 seconds. Completely outdoor. No other electical interference.

iPad mini 4 auto upgraded to Go App version 2.8.2.      Version 2.8.2, controller twenty feet from aircraft image occasionally goes blank also see green blotches.   Version 2.8.1 did not exhibit blank screens or green blotches.

I fly 1 day before update almost 200m distance and 0 lag and errors. Now i can't go over 2m when i g ...

Your screen shot is very interesting. Channel 15 has a good signal but pops up in red = unstable. Not one green channel shown... Ouch.

It's not only with apple ..   

The same here  with Android 5.0.2  and a Samsung tab s 8.4  SM-T700

Video signal lost ... stripes .. more stripes ...  etc.

Hope they have an answer soon,  after the P2 and   P3 gold,  I did hope to have finally a good Phantom ...  but there is always something...
Most of the time after updates....

I think the p4 was a fantastic quad to fly. But after updating the go app i dont feel safe flying it anymore. My signal used to be fine but now i loose signal even at short range and the app symbols show full signal, but image goes black and i get message signal lost,  i should have bought the thypoon,h maby ?

Hi, I have test it allso: iPad Air2   2.8.1 (roll back with "Charles" Web Debugging Program) and it is perfect without any problems. Than put the iPhone 6S+ with 2.8.2 and had the same problem as everybody here.
From this day on, I´m not a "auto updater" anymore.

I have the same problems since i use the 2.8.2, green stripes, black small stripes and this in the middle of nowhere. sometimes 20 meters away sometimes more, yesterday a full lost signal in 500 meters away for 15 seconds. that was not so funny.  And in the German forum there are many more with the same problems. its definitely not a problem from a small amount of people.
imho i think the firmware before that encryption patch, this with so many lost RC's in the update, was much more stable.

I just "Sploodged" DJI Go (revert to 2.8.1) on my iPad Air and happy to be back to normal operation for my P4.

DJI being a company you can't rely on, I'll never again update my P4/Go app.
Since weeks, I deal with the drop bug and will continue to live with it.

I noticed that after I turn off "Enable Hardware Decoding", close down DJI GO 2.8.2, and then restart it that the blank screen and 'weak signal' message have disappeared, or at the very least significant improvement. Can somebody please check if they have it switched on (hardware decode would be a natural choice if available), if switched on please try switching off then close down DJI GO, and then restart it. Do you notice any improvement ?

I switch it back on again (hardware decoding enabled) and notice problems, these continue after I switch off until I close down and restart the App'.

I too have noticed the loss of signal after the update, buta s i was trying to airplay another device, thought that was the problem. Remove the airplay and it was still there

Managed 3 flights tho

Tried to follow the revert to 2.8.1 for ios and got lost (not really a apple person, more android and windows but used ipad for additional apps)

Other strange thing is Ive never had anything but auto on the channels, my custom button has never worked and i cannot change the bit rate (location specific?)

The custom button only works if you change location to US. Have a look at my post above regarding turning off hardware decoding, see if that makes any difference.

Ive changed my local to us in dji.com but cannot find anywhere else to changeit?

Turning off hardware decoding has helped me, still get artifacting and some loss of signal but nowhere near as bad as it was.

iPad Pro 9.7 iOS 9.3.2
DJI GO 2.8.2

I tried 2.8.1 on my iPhone 6S Plus and it works perfectly as it should, updated the iPhone to 2.8.2 and it now has the same problems as the iPad.

I don't think you can change it and am pretty sure it works via GPS location.

I was in Florida last week with mine and it automatically had the option to go custom and pick channels, back in England now and it won't let me click Custom again.

The power output is set by GPS location. For some reason the functionality of the radio channel selection is set by region which of course we can change.

That's because by now they know how widespread this problem is.  It's affecting a very large group of P4 users.

At least they're not instructing us to do things that will not fix a bad app.

I am surprised they have not removed the update.  It shows their concern for customers having these issues as not a very important one.  No transparency as to what's going on.

I have reserved myself to believing this will not be corrected until after the memorial day holiday, even though DJI is china based, Apple and their employees are US based, and will be on vaca till Tuesday more than likely and they ultimately have to approve the app.

unless DJI issues a firmware fix to work with new app.... we will just have to wait and see unfortunately.

FYI I tried the manual channel 20 & 13 and issue was still present, although not as bad but nevertheless still present, with 2.8.1 it was flawless not so much as a flicker and was on auto as intended.

I understand bug squashing can be cumbersome however this has been going on 4 days now, and that is sad.

hey but least we have facebook live now...lol

Flying again!!! Downgraded to 2.8.1 and am now flying free of video issues with my ipad pro 9.6. Tried the "new" 2.8.2 but still had video issues, got better with turning of hardware acceleration, only a few black streaks through the video, but absolutely perfect with 2.8.1.

It seems to have to do with the transmission channel that is being selected.  I have a feeling that the Facebook Live feature has changed this a bit.  I am experiencing the same thing, and I hope to fly once today using a manually selected channel.

I have the sneaking suspicion of that too, as the video transmission would be providing the feed to Facebook live. whether someone uses it or not, something in the coding is off...

It will still do it.  I have great results with channel 13 but it does not eliminate it.  Even in an area without wifi.

I have the same issues.

Don't you just love it when DJI employees (DJI Ken) "it's happening to a small number of users"?

I would hate working for DJI support with the mess they constantly throw at us.
