same issue here, yesterday before update, all was fine today, not so good.
I re-installed the app, tried different custom settings, some are a bit better than others, but none of the options are as good as it was before the update

Synced my data, uninstalled dji go 2.8.2 from my iPhone 6s.  Reinstalled 2.8.2, but still the weak signal message is there even when I am a few feet away from the P4.  I tried some altitude and found it difficult to get good shots because I had no screen view half of the time.  How do I get back to 2.8.1 ?  Seriously !

So the rain and wind stopped long enough that I could go for my first flight since the DJI Go upgrade.

I took a short 5 minute flight just to see how things would work with the new 2.8.2 DJI Go App on my iPad Air.

I went up 200 feet and then out 700 feet, hovered a while, and returned.  The video still breaks up with artifacts and black flickers. I received one 'Poor video' warning during the flight.   

One thing I noticed is that it's just as bad when the drone is 7 feet away or 700 feet away.  There is no difference.  It doesn't get worse with distance.

Still goes through Apple approval process so will not be instantaneous..

if you want the previous version ( and no need to reinstal from a backup ) you can follow this guide to get the previous version.. Its not a simple process but I have done it and does works..
EDIT: Works on windows also.. same process really..

Update -  I went out this morning at sunrise and flew around my regular testing area with 2.8.2  Had a few blackouts at 1.3 Km, but otherwise, a very solid RC image.  I did notice that when I got within 10 meters or so of my car, with either the P4 or the RC, the display went blank and choppy, as I would expect.  Strange, last night useless, this morning almost perfect !  The clean install may have helped, maybe !?!

I've just tried my Nexus 7 (2013) Android, which has DJI GO 2.8.0 (the latest Android release) installed. Channel selection is automatic by default, and after having been powered up inside the house (potentially maximum interference) the image from the P4 to RC has been rock solid.

Android devices aren't affected by the bug..  Just some iOS phones and tablets that upgraded to the 2.8.2 version of DJI Go a day or so ago.

My iPad Air gets horrible video breakup..  My Samsung Galaxy Note 4 works as flawlessly as ever.

Thanks for the Android confirmation, yes both my Apple devices behaving badly after the IOS 2.8.2 update.

One of the reasons I bought an iPad was the extra processing power over the Nexus, the Nexus used to glitch occasionally or sometimes freeze. But at this moment in time it gives me the option to fly.

Please @DJI this is not acceptable - do something!

Can I prevent this by using another app like Litchi?

I got the older version downloaded but it wont install to my phone. When I sync it just doesnt install the app.

UPDATE

I was able to install the older version using ifunbox.

The problem with this is that once you disable auto updates, none of your apps will update automatically.  You'll have to go into the App Store on a regular basis and manually download all the app updates.

that suggestion doesn't work, deleting and reinstalling, rebooting etc etc etc. the only that that works is the older version.

I experienced the same issue with 2.8.1.

iOS = 9.3.2
Go App = 2.8.1
A/C = 1.8.80
R/C = 1.6.0

Contacted DJI

They suggest changing setting in HD, which I did.  I haven't been able to fly yet but here at the house [both inside w/gps and outside in several places in the back yard] - it appears the same issue continues using Custom Channel 13.  See link.

Hello,
I've owned the phantom 4 for only two weeks now. It's my first drone.  I'm having the same issue from the very beginning out of the box.. I just wanted to add that this has been happening to me in dji app 2.8.1  and 2.8.2

During the first week i used the drone I constantly received a "weak transmission signal" message and the screen would black out or go half way pixelated green. I would only be able to see half the screen. I could not fly by just looking at the screen. I figured me being completely new, i just didn't have all the settings tweaked.

The second week, I updated the drone firmware, remote controller, and the mini iPad all to the latest software. Tested the drone, it was still the same "weak transmission signal"
The next night is when I updated the dji app on the iPad. The test was the same, did not get better.

So, I started searching the threads because i thought it might be that my mini iPad was the problem. I found this thread. Per a suggestion on page 2,  i changed the "image tranmission settings" and it has helped.

I changed:
channel mode to "custom"
Selected channel 14  (had a little green bar)
Changed the transmission quality from 8mbps  to 4

The result was a 90% fix. I don't have the green pixelated half screen anymore. I can fly looking at screen now.

But, i still get a few  "weak transmission signal" messages and screen goes black for a second (flickers) during outdoor flight. Maybe 5 times during a 10 min flight.

I'm also affected by this.  My iPad has 2.8.2.  Weak & often No signal transmission.  I can be 6 feet away from the P3P and get the red banner.  I hooked up my Samsung S5 phone which has 2.8.0 on it and also get signal issue.  So I'm wondering if something got pushed to the P3P as well.    As of right now,  it has 1.8 on it.  Had 1.6 on it earlier yesterday.

My work ipad air has 2.3.0 on it.  You can still fly with it. You get video and that's about it.  No flight status, gauges, etc..  Absolutely no problems with 2.3.   

That's the only versions I tested.  As of late last night, I had everything up to date,  RC, P3P & GoApp.  Powered it on this morning and it said something about 'Updating Aircraft'.  Unsure if they pushed out an update overnight???  Couldn't fly due to not having a fully charged pack & having to get to work.

Really need this resolved going into the holiday weekend.

Yep,  in my post #156,  that's why I believe something got pushed out to the P3P as well.  Not just an issue with the GoApp.  

My problems started this past Saturday.  I remember seeing an Updating Aircraft message or something to that aspect.
