If I travel with my Inspire 1 from the state of Minnesota to the state of Alaska, do I need to do anything special to my Inspire 1/updates/calibration in order to fly exactly as in would in Minnesota, when I first launch it in Alaska?

Or does it perform the same, as long as GPS ready? So, in other words, I've no prep to do before I fly in Alaska?

Thanks!

Compass calibration when you get there. That should be all needed.

Perhaps verify the RTH location?

Correct as the others said, calibrate the compass and set the RTH altitude to your flight environment.
If there's a big temperature difference then if will affect your flight times some.

Ive often been 50, 100, and 150 miles from my last compass calibration point and everything worked fine.
But from Minnesota to Alaska you will definatly want to do the compass cal.
If your going to be near the arctic circle then you could expirence problems....compass, GPS, magnetic interference.
