Hi,
Can anyone tell me what the bit rate options are for recording full HD (1920 x1080) .mov video with the x5raw camera? I currenly have a x5 for which the full HD bit rate is 40mbps. I need a higher bit rate than 40 as I'm filming for broadcast TV, but I don't want the massive 1.7gb per second rate when filming raw with the x5r.
Anyone know the answer?
Regards, Jon

assuming you haven't checked this on the DJI site yet...
On the DJI Camera Compare page it lists the bitrate as "500Mbps@1920x1080(29.97p)" "Average"
But its not clear whether thats the RAW bitrate, but the rates are very high compared to the X5.
X5r:
Average:
1.6Gbps@4096x2160(23.98p),
1.9Gbps@3840x2160(29.97/23.98p),
1Gbps@2704x1520(30/25P),
500Mbps@1920x1080(29.97p)

Yes, it's crazy, isn't it. Hopefully they will incorporate a sensible codec and bit rate with the next iteration...

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply. The key to my post is I don't want to shoot raw. My client wants compressed 1920x 1080, 25p, at between 100~200mbps. But I don't know anyone with an x5R camera and I can't find the spec on the DJI site for the full HD .mov bit rate.
Anyone else know?

The footage to the X5R SD card is the same as the X5/X3, ~60mbps (4k or 1080p)(please correct me if I am wrong). Other then that, its RAW to the SSD, nothing else. You will have to process the RAW Video to something, you could then make it whatever you want, but right out of the camera with no editing, limited to ~60mbps over micro SD. If you dont want to shoot RAW, its not better then the X5, and aside for the ability of lens swap and bigger sensor, not all much better then the X3. Just my 2 cents. I hope its only for this one project you do not want to shoot RAW, otherwise... not utilizing to amazing potential of this camera. Im sure you know this already tho.

Ok, correction... the bitrate is even lower then I thought it to be (60mbps is for 4k)
40Mbps@1920x1080(59.94),
25Mbps@1920x1080(29.97p)
These are for X5.. so will apply to the X5R recording to the Micro SD as well.. way lower then your client wants.
Sorry for the confusion.

My experience has been shoot 4k then they can crop or downscale to 1080p making up for the lowish bitrate.
