Hi was wondering if there is a way to shoot in standard 4k mode just likte the x3 or the x5 pro? I only find options to shoot only in raw anything above 1080p. Is the function hidden so,ewhere?

I believe you just take out the SSD and treat it like a X5.
The first day I used the X5R I noticed a sections for SSD RAW recording, and for SD... now its all SSD. BUT, I have noticed the Micro SD card always has to be in the unit to record (the record button goes grey if there is no Micro SD), but you can take out the SSD and the record button is still there.

just got home and verified, X5R will record to the Micro SD with no SSD installed, but not the other way around. Micro SD is always needed. Im guessing because its needed for stills and a place for logging?

The flight log is kept on internal on-aircraft memory, not on the micro-SD.

Sorry I was not clear, I mean logging like when you do updates, not flight logs.

The firmware update history is kept on the aircraft in some part of that private flight logging system. It is not kept on the microSD card. When you perform an upgrade, part of the entire history is written to a text file on the microSD card but the latter is not necessary for the storage of this information.
