Very Dissapointed with DJI

When I first brought my DJI phantom 3 pro and took it out the box I loved it, out the box it had FW 1.5

It was amazingly stable, and I had good range on it

I have had nothing but trouble with every update Since purchasing it, be it the aircraft firmware, RC firmware or the app. I update everyting correctly following DJI's steps and Re calibrate everything.

Now I am at the point where I can't fly more than 80ft without loosing RC signal, video signal, blocky pixelated image transmission and RTH activating 6 times within 8 minutes of flying

It is now more of a worry flying my drone than enjoyment. I don't enjoy flying it as I used to, I don't trust it anymore and lost all confidence I had in it originally

After all the many many horror stories I hear about the very poor customer service from DJI in reluctant to send to which ever country (apart from my own) they ask me to send back to as its not gaurantee to come back fixed and could take many weeks or months to receive it back, and unlikely to be updated on its progress while it is where ever with whoever!!

I don't see it should need to be sent in for physical repair when all problems many thousands of us are having is due to updates

DJI are offering no reassurance to any of us.. Not that I have seen

I feel the same...Dji could easily allow us to downgrade any firmware, but they allow only one downgrade and that is only on certain models with others such as the advanced they hold us to whatever firmware is currently installed. This in itself makes me mistrust them. I continually see fellow pilots reporting decreased distances, loss of video signal, fly aways and crashes, and all the while remaining silent with respect to faulty software. In fairness there are many that do not report these issues however... in my mind if many report problems with the software then this must be fully investigated and properly dealt with. I would expect a company such as DJI to be transparent and if their software had bugs which caused issues to take full responsibility and make good on any loss as a result of it.

Sorry for your frustration, magicxsid. Did you try to adjust the RC and antenna position during your flight or change other environment?

I have tried adjusting the antennas many times, it makes no difference

There are so many unhappy people with there drones, do DJI have a plan to massively improve there customer support worldwide for people who have spent a lot of money with them??

The first thing at the top of most people's list is a fully tried and tested FW and app update.

It took me along time to save the money for my drone and now although I'm desperate to get my drone in the air and travel to new places with it I just can't do it anymore

I can't trust the drone any more.. I do nothing any different to when I first had it, fly it the same way in the same places.

Sorry for your frustration. If your drone keeps activating RTH in such a short distance, it is recommended to get in touch with our tech support in Europe and send the drone to our repairing center for diagnosis.Thanks for your understanding.

And here we go again...a clear and concise statement is made ...you had no issues when flying with firmware 1.5 and after the upgrade you had issues. I don't know but to me that statement is pretty clear!...then questions about antenna placement come into play.. and when that dosent have the desired effect then send it to us for service???. DJI with each day you lose the trust of many of your customers. Give us the ability to run whatever firmware we had when we first bought our quads that will end our problems. I had no issues prior to the firmware update and now I have decreased distance and decreased video feed I too was running 1.5 and stupidly upgraded my firmware.

I just updated my firmware an app two days ago. Flying the drone now is  frustrating as the connection between the drone and the controller is inconsistent at boot up.   
I'm very cautious flying it very far as I used to and it does not seem as stable when controlling it.   My phantom three advanced has performed perfectly every time until the update.  (It's a year old) Let's all hope something changes very soon with a more more stable software and update.

New to site new out of box phantom 3 pro 4K won't update with bin file only red light at front solid pale yellow flashing but no beeping sounds or green and red light at front of phantom on ,any idea guys controller updated no problem tried formatting Mini SD and I changing SD card

What I don't understand is why are so many people experiencing issues with the latest updates? Does DJI test the firmware out before they release it to the masses? I still have FW 1.5 on my Phantom 3P and I have been losing RC signal here a lot lately. I haven't done any kind of update since sometime Fall 2015. So there must be something else going on. Funny how FW version 1.5 isn't even listed on the DJI Downloads page! Whats up with that? It has 1.3; 1.4; no 1.5 or 1.6 but shows 1.7 and 1.8!

Its not fun to fly anymore. And i dont feel safe doing it when my live feed goes black all the time in long range and short range,  how many beta testerd does dji have ?   I tell you....NOT ENOUGH.

Same here i always had this problem since i had my phantom a year ago ... i was wondering how can peoples reach more then 250 m without getting out of video signal

I too cannot get any distance since 'update' loosing signal RTH every flight..yes I adjusted antenna a million times DJI. If you would have a roll back plan simple...addition to app. Roll back means - go to 'last version' DJI in-case you do not understand. Would save everyone time and money!!

I agree, this will be my last DJI purchase, I can't recommend any of there products to anyone, if anyone asks I'll have to tell them to stay away from DJI drones as they will be taking a huge risk with there money and if they have any problems there will be no one to go back to for straight answers and quick warranty repairs as expected with any consumer purchase.

DJI are clearly not upto the standards of other competitors with there service

I know there are many happy people too.
I had an FC40 that was trouble free and the only problems I had were caused by me.
My P3A has also been trouble free.
I'm sure there are some issues with DJI but I wonder what the percentage of problems are caused by DJI vs operator error considering the quantity of phantoms they sell over the other brands.
I would like to hear what actually caused these problems and what was done to fix them.

Come on DJI!!! please make available in a official way as an option to us downgrade the firmware while you are developing a new one!!!!! You need so many years to get a solid image/ trade but in a moment you are draining your image very fast

So mixed reviews on the new app update, still not solving any issues with P3, some reviews I've heard says by that there drone still has yo yo effect going up and down when hovering still. Fly always and crashes. Aswell as the normal video signal lost and RTH kicking in,

What happens with people who are buying new drones? P3 or P4? Are many of them having trouble with them being very unstable, or maybe as its new they have nothing to compare it too??

Either way many drones are not doing half of the things it says on the box, how do DJI get away with selling them when they can't gaurantee it performs as they say it will

I have had this problem with two different drones now. You do the firmware upgrade and it ruins the experience completely with "interference" popping up all the time. Mine was new enough that when DJI said to send it in for repair, I just returned it to the Amazon vendor I bought it from. Waiting for the new one to arrive. I don't plan on upgrading the firmware. Unless absolutely necessary.

just an opinion...but me thinks DJI should change the warning message from "UPDATE REQUIRED" to  "UPDATE AVAILABLE"
I NEVER updated my P3A and I couldn't be happier with it.   Perfect.  Flawless.   Looooooong range.
(Although in all fairness, I am forgoing some of the added features like 2K camera and all the NFZ advantages.)

But, if you're having troubles from a previous update, I think you're commited and have no choice.
