Okay so I did this, how exactly do I paint the battery?

You paint the battery and props the same way.  Congrats, the extra weight will lower your flight time 3 minutes.

I am not a fan of painting, but the paint is not going to add any weight. Not any that will make any difference.
To paint the battery, maybe try to take the battery apart if possible.

Looks good, and likely easier to see in the sky.  Cant you just paint the visible part of the battery in the same way that you painted the shell?

I kind of like it with the black and white.  That's how I left my Standard.  Looks like a flying cop car.

To make it most visible in the sky, you can paint it red, or yellow.

BTW, have you tried measuring the weight after painting? I'm thinking it might add a few grams of weight.

I like it!  Maybe a Wal Mart bag to cover the part of the battery that's inside the phantom, and a strip of electrical tape over the button and lights, and hit it with the paint

I dont have a gram scale but I just did one single thin coat of black paint with no protective coating. It'll be lucky if the paint even ways more than 4 grams, or thats what Im assuming haha

If I used 3 cans of plasti dip maybe. This is just a single thin coating of black spray paint with no protective layer or coating on top. It'll be 5 grams, if I even used that much paint.

I think (know) that if you paint the props, you will have very possible problems with vibration.
It looks really good as it is now.

Depends how thin the paint is.. it will only make a difference of seconds, it's only a few grams.

Dye the props in RIT synthetic dye

The battery cover can be removed. Check Youtube. I looked at a video there on the disassembly process but I don't remember the exact title of the clip. I imagine that you want to mask out the hubs on the props? Get some "Liquid Mask" that will work fine for you. Even better yet grab some of the black props from DJI they have the yellow stripes at the tips. That will look cool.

I'm in agreement with some of the others. Just leave it as it is. The black and white contrast is pretty cool.

Possibly, but even if the added weight of the paint is 5 grams, that's a 10% reduction in flight time.  Being that these weight 50 grams.
