In order to understand and have a better judgement on your problem, some essential information is needed.
1) Could you please tell me the firmware version and the App version of your Osmo?
2) Could you explain more details about the "staying locked" problem to us? A video would be more helpful for our understanding.
3) Have you noticed some abnormal LED display or any noise?
More details would be appreciated.
