One more thing DJI-Paladin, does the firmware also update the battery? I swap 2nd battery after update and there's no notification whatsoever for the battery...

note* I already update both battery on .410 firmware...

Unfortunately currently it is not available. If the battery needs to upgrade, you'll get a notification from the app.

I haven't updated my p4 yet so you are saying I have to upgrade to 1.1.410 to update my battery's and then upgrade again to 1.1.411???

Hello.. I have not updated my p4 to the newest firmware yet my battery's are not updated to the newest do I have to update to 1.1.410 to update my battery's and then to the 1.1.411?? I have no idea what to do because on a different thred DJI had Sade that 1.1.411 does not have the battery update.

The Phantom 4 firmware is not just one big file like previously, its a collection of smaller module firmware updates.

The GO App checks online with DJI on startup ( if it has Internet ) for the latest release version, that version will list all current module updates available also.
If the release version is newer ( you have 1.1.410 installed and it detects the 1.4.411 available ) the App prompts you that a new firmware is available. If you are running the latest release version, the app checks the individual module versions against whats installed on the Phantom 4. If it detects a difference the GO App prompts you saying the firmware is inconsistent and allows you to update just that module ( battery for instance ).

So, all you need to do is update to the latest firmware 1.1.411 then turn OFF the Phantom and close the DJI Go App. Put a new battery in, power ON the phantom then start the GO App. After a few seconds the app will prompt you if anything ( like battery ) needs updating. Do this for all batteries you have.

The Spare Batteries Update Process:

1: After the firmware upgrade of the aircraft is done ( this will have done the battery used as well ), turn the Phantom 4 off, exit the GO App.

2: Remove the battery used for the main upgrade and replace it with another battery.

3: Open the GO App then power ON the Phantom 4.

4: After the Phantom initializes, the App will prompt you then the firmware is inconsistent, slide the “Slide to update” button to begin the update process. takes about a minute. The GO App will inform you when the process is complete.

The firmware update v.1.1.410 already took care of the altitude hold problem in my case. The Phantom 4 is stable since this version. I updated today to v.1.1.411 and will test in a few.

For me 410 seems to have sorted the Horizon tilt I was getting after a 'yaw turn' (or is it because I now check level after calibration (C2+Right Hand Wheel) and it sets permanently ?), and the jury is still out on the vertical drop, will need more testing. I updated to 411 yesterday but had no chance to test other than a hover test in garden.

For me it was just the OPPOSITE !! 410 I had the altitude drop... I came back to 301 and solid as a rock.

It's seems to be a different hardware version.

The firmware issued yesterday for the P4 is 1.01.411

Is there some way to backup the settings before the update and restore them afterwards?

For me it kept most of the settings how they have been before update.

But it is adviced to reset your camera settings and set them again.
And all in all, going through all of the settings takes max 10min.

Thankfully this time it did retain its settings. I suspect they get reset after a major update and retained after a minor one. Some of the settings changes are serous like the RTH altitude which I need a lot higher than default where I fly. The others are super annoying like switching from continuous file names to reset (continuous should be the default). I also have adjustments for the control sensitivity.

Bug: The RTH altitude is still set in meters when the units are set to Imperial. This messed me up in a big way when I first flew the P4.

It's not a bug, pretty sure it's always been like that.
Changing from Imperial to Metric changed the telemetry screen, not the settings adjustments.

I've been sitting in front of my iPad Air 2 punching the "continue" button over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...

All it does is flash and continually tell me that the Phantom 4 Upgrade Package is Paused...

I have powered off and on the iPad, reset the app, reset the copter reset the controller...

I had no problem with upgrading to version 1.1.410, but this version version 1.1.411 has serious issues in handling the upgrade process ...

Are DJI's servers down, or is China off-line now?

or, it's a bandwidth problem with too many people tryng to update and they don't have enough server capacity to handle it...

Also, if I click on the link that says Release Notes, all I get is a white page...

All other Internet wi-fi activity to DJI's site including accessing my account works fine through DJI Go App 2.8.3 ..

Nothing happens when I plugged my iPad into the drone.  Last time when I did the other update, it came up with a red bar saying update.  This time I get nothing.  If I use the asst. it shows update, but fails.

Be sure to your drone is connected to ipad properly when you try update. If it is, plug out and plug in again the usb from phantom. (not the controller side) its worked when i tried to update it.

I just updated to 1.1.411 and my FPV has wavy black and white lines through it. Can anyone help?

For the ones you did not update and are still using the original firmware 301 and 2.8.1 app,
what should we do once we feel brave to upgrade?

Do we upgrade directly to the latest firmware, or do we have to do 2 incremental upgrades?
(the reason I ask is because the latest firmware doe snot include the batteries)

I plan to update the firmware using the DJI assistant software.

BTW: What is the current version of the assistant software?Mine is Version V01.00.0002

Should I use the DJI app to do all the updates?  Pros Cons please!

I have also tried to update using the app and that does the same.

I had the same problem. If I remember right it was the "over exposure warning" switch was set to on.  Go to the camera menu and tap the "wrench" and the look at the settings. I believe turning off "over exposure warning" will fix your problem

It was updated two days ago, check out the P4 downloads page. And you can upgrade directly to the latest build.

I skip 410 and go straight to 411 and update without issue.
Done it from DJI go app on my note5.
If you plug in another battery, the app will prompt you there is an update to one of your device.
You will see the second last battery indicator blinks during updating.

Hi I upgraded to latest firmware with my phantom 4 but now known that in photo mode has a low quality preview on my ipad while the video is very sharp !!

Yesterday I updated the DJI Go app to 2.8.3, with the P4 still running the v1.1.301 and I had exactly the same issue... Sharp video, but the photo preview very blurry (actual pictures where OK).

Updated the firmware to .411 with 2.8.3 DJI GO Apps. Everything is perfect except:-

1) Altitude drop is still happening while stopping.
2) Photo preview on app is blur.

i have a major alt. drop after updates 15foot i went straight up 10sec no more stick movments and phantom4 drops. 1st 10 sec of video

Is now in the new Android App the 1080 pinch zoom funktion?

I updated to the 411 cured the blurry video but has now given me a worse altitude drop, it dropped before the update but a lot worse now, it also changed my modes over, sure it descends slower but I should have checked when I was out flying today

I can not update to v 1.1.411 because the Dji GO program does not complete the firmware download. The download is paused at 2% and will not continue.
