I brought a p4 yesterday updated the rc and bird after 2 flights the esc failed

I swapped it today for A new one and no problems with esc however

There was no update for my rc this time

The video feed for photos is blurry compared too record mode, and the feed keep dropping out on my iPad which I was using yesterday, tried my iPhone 6 and seemed a lot better what gives? Should there be an rc update? I thought there was,

I should add it was dropping video approx 120m distance about 40m height

Also have altitude drop when stopping about 2-5m

The firmware issued yesterday for the P4 is 1.01.411

Well Ken you guys got it right this time, firmware upgrade went perfect using iPad Air 2

Many thanks to DJI for taking the time with this firmware release

Does it fixed the altitude drop? I am getting mixed results from the foum...

Yes......it's only for the aircraft.  
There is no corresponding RC update.

Can't speak for everyone but for  me, and I only had a slight drop during full stops, it took care of that problem completely.

I get drops in all modes

About 3-5m in sport

DJI-Ken, or anyone, please let me know the answers to my questions below:

If you use the pc and go from the old firmware version 301 to the latest version, will it also update the batteries?
The reason I ask is because I saw that the latest version does not update the batteries?  Do I have to upgrade to .410 first?

Assuming it will update the battery,  
Since the battery firmware is not stored in the sd-card on the P4, then when I place a new battery and reboot, how is it going to locate the battery upgrade?

Do the additional batteries need to be updated using the app? I can see how the app will push it over, but how is/(are) the extra battery(ies) going to be updated if I use the pc/DJI assistant 2?

Can you please upload your DAT file of that flight and also post a video. You should not be getting video drop outs at that close range. You are in an open area correct?
Also, you said iPad, which one. Just an iPad will not work. You need at least an iPad Air.
And a very slight altitude adjustment from full speed to stop is normal.

I know sometimes it can be frustrating sometimes. As time goes on, updates on new aircraft being released should get easier and easier.

A very slight drop from full speed to abrupt stop is normal, BUT if you have none at all now then that is great.
Possibly you have your settings just perfect

Use DJI Assistant 2 to update the firmware from 301 to the latest, the process will update your battery as well.
While still connected your phantom 4 to your pc, turn off your bird, put new battery in then turn the bird on, the DJI assistant 2 will ask you to update the battery, click confirm button to allow the battery to get new firmware. Do this for all your batteries.

Ken it's an iPad mini 2

I've tried again today and had 2 drops during a long flight so all seems good

Photo preview is still really blurry however

And I have some horizon tilt issues?

I'm sorry you are still experiencing this, the mini2 should work just fine.
Maybe talks to support and have it sent in to be looked at.

I was just guessing that, I have no idea of their settings. I do have my gains and sensitivity fairly low as I like a docile mushy flying feeling and not so rigid. If you have high settings and it's really rigid possibly lowering settings may help.
You would just need to spend a few batteries testing out different settings.

Regarding the blurry photo feed I see others still expiriencing this online, is there likely to be anymore firmware updates to correct this and the tilted horizon?

Ken do you think I should refresh the firmware install and the recalibrate everything before contacting support? Don't really want to be without the drone lol

Photo view is not the same as video and has never been as clear, image may look pixilated or blury compared to video live feed , the craft uses the sensor differently in picture view compared to video, this has always been the case with the P4 and P3.

No settings change.  
Just updated to the 1.1.411 firmware and the issue I had with the P4 dropping when you stopped from high speed went away.  
Did not get a chance to install the 1.1.410 firmware but went straight to the 1.1.411.

I posted about my 1.1.411 update experience on the Phantom 4 forum this morning, but I can tell you that I recalibrated EVERYTHING after the update.

The main reson was that most of my P4 settings like RTH altitude, Max Flight Altitude, Obstacle setting had all reverted back to default after the upgrade.  I figure the IMU had also been flashed and needed a recal. Hope this helps.

I will recalibrate the gimbal tomorrow to try and fix the horizon tilt

As for the blurry photo feed changing modes doesn't work and it is significantly less sharp of an image compared to when in record mode
