They say that submissions "must be in the format of 360° panorama images".
Does the following spherical count? It's just one example of the kinds of panos I've been doing. I created them with a P3P, using Litchi in 3-level pano mode, stitched together in PTGui.

No ... Skypixel if you tried to upload that to their 360 section, it would reject.

Labroides is correct the image has to be in a 2:1 ratio (height half the width). It's also known as an equirectangular image yet is, in almost contradictory sounding terminology, a spherical projection!

The areas in black in your pano will need to have some sky in them or you'll have a black hole at the top of the image.
